Hi All,
I'm having a hands in hair moment while developing an embedded canvas app for a customer.
We've created a simple app which shows some colors based on records in CDS. The app should be only 100 pixels in height and that's what we've selected as our screensize.
We have a business unit structure as follows:
Below a screenshot with a user in the parent Business unit (Our canvas app is in the topright):
When looking at this record with a user in the business unit "Child 1" the scaling of the canvas app is all wrong as seen in the screenshot below. The large white space is all app related.. The record is assigned to the business unit Child 1, so that should not be the issue
We've checked all security and both users have the same security levels. When moving the user of the second example to the parent business unit the app scales correctly again. When giving the user admin rights the app also scales correctly.
I do not know which rights are in the way of the scaling.. Any suggestions?

Found it!
Is was indeed a rights issue in the model app. The entire organization needs read rights on Customization -> Canvas App.
Hi @BenDenBlanken ,
Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?
Do you mean that the scaling of the embedded app would be in different size when you open a record in parent Business unit and business unit "Child 1"?
Have you taken a try to custom the screen size of a embedded canvas app on your Model-Driven form?
Based on the issue that you mentioned, it seems that this issue is related to the screen size of a embedded canvas app on your Model-Driven form. Please consider custom the screen size of a embedded canvas app, then re-publsih it, then check if the issue is solved.
More details about customing the screen size of a embedded canvas app on a Model-Driven form, please check the following article:
Please consider turn off the "Scale to fit" option within "Screen size + orientation" settings of App settings, then re-publish your app, check if the issue is fixed.
Best regards,
Hi,
Thanks for your respons. We've indeed tried different scenario's with scaling. The canvas app is scaled to 100 height inside the canvas app. We've played around with scale to fit but to no avail.
Concerning your question: When the logged in user is in the child business unit, the scaling problem exists. When we assign the logged in user to the parent level business unit the scaling issue is no longer apparant.
Also the admin user has no problems with scaling. Not even when in the child business unit.
All signs point to "roles and rights" but that doesn't make sense to me..
@BenDenBlanken I see some differences in the screenshot below. Looks like in one case the canvas app is going across the columns but in the other case it is in half that space. Is it possible to put a border that takes up the whole screen in the canvas app to see where that appears?
Thanks
Anees

@BenDenBlanken
Seems like you found the solution for this. I also encountered a similar issue with the extra space below my embedded canvas app.
As per your recommended solution, you are saying to change the rights for the Canvas app to Read. Currently, I am logged in as a System Admin and I have full rights for Canvas app as you can see below.
Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me as the extra blank space is still there on the form. I have changed the scaling of the app, played with permissions, changed the orientation too etc. But this doesn't work!
My Canvas app specs:
Orientation - Landscape
Size - 16:9 Default
Scale to Fit: OFF
Lock Orientation: OFF
Optimize Embedding experience (Under Upcoming features > Experimental tab): OFF
Many thanks.
