Error on launch with 365 user data

Hi there,

I'm developing a part of my app that basically reads the already existing users from a microsoft list with their preferences. Nothing crazy.

When anyone launches my app this error appears. 

Error Description: Office365Users.UserProfile failed: The function 'UserProfile' has an invalid value for parameter 'userId' - a blank value was passed to it where it was not expected. Please make sure that a valid argument is passed to the function

I 100 percent don't have any blank users in my list. I don't get any errors once the list does properly load in.  This is what the list looks like. 

My company doesn't require contractors to use photos so I even implemented a check for that too. 

The two fields i use connectors to look up are Job title 

Office365Users.UserProfile(ThisItem.Title).JobTitle

and their photo with verification that there is a photo.

My current theory is that it tries to call the office connector / function before the list properly loads and I don't really know how I could fix that.

Hi @Anonymous ,

You're facing a common issue in that if there's no user info or profile picture, it'll throw an error. It may keep throwing that error too, as the underlying API will be routinely called so it can get annoying.

You could add a bit of error handling with the IfError function. For the Job Title it would look something like:

IfError(Office365Users.UserProfile(ThisItem.Title).JobTitle,"No job title available")

You can customise the text between the double quotes or just have "" to leave the value blank if an error is returned.

With regards to the profile image, it's the same deal - use IfError to suppress. @LaurensM recently covered this in a recent solution for someone else (here), your code would be very similar to what he's posted.

Hey there! I actually fixed this with a bit more of a foolproof solution. I noticed that the errors that I was getting was saying how I was passing a blank object so now i just have an if statement. 

If(Not(IsBlank(ThisItem.Title)),
Office365Users.UserProfile(ThisItem.Title).JobTitle,
"Loading")

// This is a bit of a stupid solution. It tries to load the data before its here so it errors out. This simple if statement should work. 

 In my C++ caveman brain this makes perfect sense LOL.
