Expected record value in combobox by lookup from sharepoint

Hello guys, 

I have the problem, that my lookup in the ComboBox is broken. It always wants a record value but there only get the text item from the sharepoint list.

Thats my Code for the Lookup

LookUp(
    Verfahrensverzeichniss,
    ID = selectedId
).'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitung'

Saved with a Patch into a single line text on SharePoint

I found many Posts regarding record value error but no one suits my problem. Where is my bug there?

Following this Question, how would a lookup looks like if I have multiple selected items saved separated with a " , " ?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Where are you using that code in a Combo Box? It will produce a Single Line of Text, which a Combo Box will not accept in either Items or DefaultSelectedItems. Items expect a Table and DefaultSelectedItems a Record.

I inserted the LookUp in the Default.

The Items contains the Table where the data is selected from.

Default does nothing in a Combo Box, so delete that. If the Items of the Combo Box were

Filter(
    Verfahrensverzeichniss,
    ID = selectedId
).'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitung'

then the DefaultSelectedItems would be

{'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitung':ThisItem.'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitung'}

assuming you were writing back to a field of this name.

No, didn't work. Maybe I missunderstand or I misscommunicated. 

In the first Screen I have the ComboBox with the table 'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitungen' where I select one of the and safe them to SharePoint.

In the second Screen I have the combobox where the Items are also 'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitungen'. 

The Default item should be the saved item in the Sharepoint from the List 'Verfahrensverzeichniss' with the Column 'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitung'

Your example give me the error with in items with the lookup and then with the ThisItem in the defaultSelectedItems

What field are you displaying in the second combo box and what field and list are you writing to in SharePoint? Also are you using a Form here as ThisItem refers to a Form or Gallery record.

Begin: 

ComboBox with the Items: 'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitungen'

Write the selected item to the SharePoint (shorted code)

Patch(
    Verfahrensverzeichniss,
    Defaults(Verfahrensverzeichniss),
    {
        'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitung': Zweck_Datver.Selected.rh_datenverarbeitung
    }
);

'Datenverarbeitung' is the primary name column.

Then I can select the SharePoint safe via a Gallery.

The Items Property of the Combobox is: 'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitungen'.

And the problem now is that the default Item showing in the Combobox should be the saved item from the SharePoint List 

Thought about changing it into a drop down but in future I want to store multiple items separated with a "," in the SharePoint

You did not answer the question about this being in a Form, but assuming it is, the DefaultSelectedItems would be

{rh_datenverarbeitung:ThisItem.'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitung'}

 If not on a Form, how do you identify the record required for the control population?

I'm so sorry for that. After 4 month still a newbie. 

Not sure if it is what you mean but from the gallery I'm using

Select(Parent);
Navigate(Verzeichnis_bearbeiten_allgemein, ScreenTransition.Fade,{selectedId: Ver_Gallery.Selected.ID});

Then using the ID to select the record data.

Use this kind of navigation all over the app. Works pretty much everywhere (DropDowns, RichText, Address, Text) except the Combobox .

Yes, but are you using a Form here or are the controls simply on the screen? If on the screen, are you setting the record ID as a Variable to find the correct record? DefaultSelectedItems need to get their data from somewhere - on a Form it is simply ThisItem.FieldName. If you are using a Variable for the record ID, it would be

   rh_datenverarbeitung:
   LookUp(
      Verfahrensverzeichniss,
      ID = selectedId
   ).'Zwecke der Datenverarbeitung'
}
