Field showing as required even when completed after save

I have a PowerApp form with a combobox that pulls data from another list on the site. 

It works perfectly except when I go into the form after the user saves. I cannot save the form because the required field it still showing as required even when data is populated. I have the properties for the CB in attachments.

The DataCard has an update value of:

DataCardValue36.Selected.'BU Allowed'

Default value of:

ThisItem.'Business Unit'

I have also tried making the field not required & it still gives me that error

Try to Export the Power App and then import it with another name.

That didn't work. Is there something I'm missing in the properties for the card or CB. maybe in Display of Default?

I think the key to this issue is the data type conflict so that the Combo Box could not recognize the selected item.

Try to modify your DefaultSelectedItems property as below:

{'Business Unit':ThisItem.'Business Unit'}

The only thing that did was delete the selection in the form that the user chose when submitting the form.

Okay, let me confirm something important with you:

1). You populate the Combo Box with a Text column named 'BU Allowed' from another list, right? Tell me if this is a Text column type.

2). 'Business Unit' is the column you want to save the Combo Box selected item to in your data source

3). What is the column type of the 'Business Unit' column type in your data source

1 - The BU Allowed field from the data source is a Choice type 

2 - Yes Business Unit is the field in the form I want saved from the data source

3 - Business Unit is also a Choice type, both fields have the same options for choice

Do you mean that you want to populate the 'Business Unit' ComboBox based on BU Allowed from another list?

You don't tell me directly that if both the 'BU Allowed' and the Business Unit are from the same data source or different data source. Hope you could clarify this.

I have a test on my side, and I am confused that how could you display a Choice column value based on another Choice column value using the Filter() function directly.

You could discover that the BUAllowed column display as record value returned by the Filter() function

In addition, if you could successfully save the selected item, please consider modifying the DefaultSelectedItems property as below:

{Value:ThisItem.'Business Unit'}

The Business Unit field is a combobox with its own selections in the list, XX, XXY, XXZ

It filters the selections from BU allowed list depending on the user name populated from another field in the first list with the Business Unit. The problem is the CB from the first list isn't recognizing the selection on the form in that list.
