Filter ComboBox2 Based on Dropdown1 and ComboBox1 Selections

I have Dropdown1 (Cost Type) and two Combo Boxes controls (Location and Billing Unit).

I can choose from two hard-coded items in Drodown1. I can choose from a list fo Locations, filtered based on the choice made in Dropdown1. I am unable to filter ONLY the Billing Units where the 'Cost Type' and 'Location' match (in the test that would be 30 items). My ComboBox2 formula is returning all 256 'Billing Unit'.

What am I missing? How do I write the formula so that ONLY the Billing Unit(s) that are Match ComboBox1 choice and ComboBox2 Choice? 

Dropdown1 (Cost Type) 'Item' property has -

Correct me if I'm wrong, you want the Billing Uint combobox, to display only what is a match in Cost type and Location . . .  both of which are comboboxes . . . If that is the case, I'll leave you below with the code you would use to achieve it!

I tried your formula, withthe apropriate changes.

Same results, all items are returned, rather than ONLY the Billing units where the Cost Type (Drodown1) and Location (ComboBox1) match the selections made.

Example: User chooses 'In House' and 'Middle'; there are ONLY 30 items on the SPList where the 'Cost Type' is "In House" and the 'Location' is "Middle". ComboBox2 should have shwo a list of 30 items.

However, I am still getting ALL items. Waht should be returned is a Distinct list of 'Billing Unit' items  where 'Cost Type' is "In House" and 'Location' is "Middle" - 30 items.

That is indeed strange . . . Can you provide a snippet of the table or collection with all it's columns (As far as you're allowed of course, and do point out if any one of those is a lookup or something different than text or number), as well as the item formulas for the dropdown and combobox?

I want to try and recreate it in my own enviroment to test it out for you and hopefully find a solution soon!

Also, just to be clear are both of the items, the cost type and location are comboboxes, or is one of them or even both of them dropdowns?

Cost Type (Dropdown1) 'Items' has - ["In House", "Contractor"]

Location (ComboBox1) 'Items' has - 

Sort(Distinct(Staking_Collection,Cost_Type = Dropdown1.Selected.Value),SortOrder.Descending)

 
Billing_Unit (CombBox2); Based on the example. In the list there are only 30 line items where the Title is "In House" and the Location is "Middle".

The correct formula should return ONLY those 30 'Billing Unit' items to ComboBox2, rather than ALL items in the Billing Unit column.

Almost got it.

I am now getting the 30 'Billing_Unit' items, as desired.

However, the ComboBox1 (Location) is no longer returning Distinct values.

How do I update the formula so that the ComboBox1 return is a distinct list (has not diplicates)?

Oh, sure, I completely forgot about that. You just have to squeeze a Distinct using the Filter function as an origin . . . Here's the fix!

Just changing the column name to .Value instead of .Location should do!

Power Apps didn't like that solution.

I tried it as shown, and with an added close parenthesis ' ) ' at the end.

Also, you are using semi-colons ' ; '. They didn't work for me, and I had to change them all to commas ' , '.

Error message: "Unexpected characters. The formula contains and 'EoF' where a 'ParenClose' is expected."

In the distinct function there is not close, only the Filter! after the ).Title, add .Title), after which you should have the SortOrder.Descending and that should do the trick!

Edit: Do check my previous reply because I did fix the code there!

Hopefully that's the last thing you need, because It's around 1am here in spain and I'm not lasting much more 🤣
