Hello guys,
I think I have a relatively complicated issue, but maybe someone can help me.
In another screen there is the possibility to submit an idea to a sharepoint list.
In this screen I would like you to be able to see all of your own submitted ideas, but unfortunately every user can see all of the ideas that have been entered in this list. I used a gallery for this. Is there any way to filter by your own user ID and only see your own ideas? But I want this to be a default setting so the user has no opportunity to see ideas submitted by others.
Or is there any other solution to this problem?
Thank you guys!
Solved! Go to Solution.
It's not the same you can test it quite easily by adding another Text label and putting there this formula:
User().Email
So basically the Filter is working but since the account you are using hasn't created a record you can't see any. Can you try to create a record with this very account that you are using to create the app?
ropiolk@.....com and not raphael.opiolka@.....com
It'is quite weird. But maybe it changes as soon as you go in edit mode.
Or did you share the connector?
I'm pratically sure you didn't because you said you're a beginner to power apps and to share a connector you need to make extra steps.
Best is you test it with your colleague as you said. If his posts are also saved under your mail address come back to me and we will make sure they create their own connection.
HEy @RaphaelOpiolka ,
I Would use the Mail address and put the filter directly into the Items Property of the Gallery. the user has no access.
It would be something like this:
Filter(SharePouintList, .'Created By'.Email=User().Email)
Try this and let me know if it worked for you.
Hey @DBO_DV ,
Thanks for your help, sadly it didnt work out because of these issue it says on the right side:
Do you have any idea why it isnt working? Thank you!
Yes Sorry i made a spelling mistake here:
Filter('CKD Ideation Idea Overview', 'Created By'.Email=User().Email)
The dot shouldn't be there in front of the Created By column. Now it should work.
Hi @DBO_DV ,
Thank you! Now the syntax is working.
Strangely enough, now it doesnt even show the Ideas I created myself.
I created a text field which shows the CreatedBy, with ThisItem.'Createdby' because I thought maybe this would be the problem. But these field isnt working also haha.
Do you know why it now doesnt even show the items I created myself?
Sorry for all of these questions, Im a total beginner with PowerApps
You need to add a dot behind 'Created by'. In this column there are a few columns hidden.
Are you sure, that are created on your name?
Yes, I made like 4 test Ideas which are all created by me.
Could you try to put this in a Text Label and tell me if it's the same Email as you are logged in right now to create the App?
First('CKD Ideation Idea Overview').'Created By'.Email
Yeah I think it is the same, Im working for a company and Im logged in with a company account. So it shows another email adress in the right top corner. But when I click on view account. It shows the same Email as in the Text Input field.
It's not the same you can test it quite easily by adding another Text label and putting there this formula:
User().Email
So basically the Filter is working but since the account you are using hasn't created a record you can't see any. Can you try to create a record with this very account that you are using to create the app?
