Good Morning Everyone,

Really hoping someone can help on this, googlefu so far hasn't worked out.

I'm creating a power app that should pull some records from a connected SQL database. I'm attempting to fill a collection with a filter from the table with: Set(DateLimit, DateAdd(Today(), -7); Collect(Hist, Filter('Table', Date > DateLimit))

However I'm constantly getting this error:

Service call was successful. However, there was a problem processing the server response. Please refresh your data source and republish the app.

I've done the 'Refresh data source and republish' countless times and it doesn't resolve anything. I've deleted the SQl connection and readded then updated everything as well with no resolution.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Looking through this it seems like your Power Apps logic should be fine. I am not certain what is causing this error. This might be a better question for Microsoft Support. I'll include a link below on how to create a request with them. Otherwise if any other communities members might know what is causing this feel free to chime in.

What I ended up doing was adding an extra column that converts the date into a string and then just comparing it that way, it only works for exact dates not > or < functions but if that's what you are looking for it worked for me.

I was having that issue until I did a computed column in SQL instead of comparing it against the date. I now have a date integer I compare values against now instead. 

I added the computed column to my SQL table "ComputedDateInteger" AKA "CDI". 

I put a button for "This Months" that set my variables:

Set(FilterBegDate, Date(Year(Today()), Month(Today()), 1));

Set(FilterEndDate, Date(Year(Today()), Month(Today())+1, 0))

I then just included the filter in the items property of my gallery to compare against the value of the text of my FilterBegDate and FilterEndDate Variables. 

Sort(Filter('[dbo].[mydata]', CDI >= Value(Text(FilterBegDate,"[$-en-US]yyyymmdd")) && CDI <= Value(Text(FilterEndDate,"[$-en-US]yyyymmdd"))),RecordID,Descending)

Didn't see the error anymore after that.

There might be a workaround to this. I got the same error doing this:

Filter('datasource',created_on>=DateAdd(Today(),-30,Days))

So tried this instead which seems to work:

Filter('datasource',DateDiff(created_on,Today(),Days) <30)

I've submitted a ticket for this issue.  Filtering gives a much better error, but Lookup gives a very generic error:
