Gallery Items Issue

I have the following started but have been unable to get the correct format.  I want the gallery to display as follows:

1.  Records where tglActive = true AND drpdwnWO is Blank() AND drpdwnWBSE = Blank()

OR

2.  Records where 1 or more of the 18 checkboxes are selected AND drpdwnWO is Blank() AND drpdwnWBSE = Blank()

OR

3.  Records where a selected value is in drpdwnWO AND drpdwnWBSE = Blank()

OR

4.  records where a selected value is in drpdwnWBSE AND drpdwnWO is Blank()

OR

5.  tglActive = false AND drpdwnWO is Blank() AND drpdwnWBSE = Blank()

Hi @RJF61 ,

Firstly, you are missing the Sort off the top and also have your list name in the wrong place, so starting with this

Sort(
   Filter(
      ShortFormII,
      And(
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,1).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,2).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,3).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,4).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,5).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,6).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,7).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,8).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,9).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,10).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,11).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,12).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,13).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,14).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,15).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,16).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,17).WrkCtr,
         GrpChoice = Index(ComboBox3.SelectedItems,18).WrkCtr
      ),
      Active = tglActive.Value,
      (
         IDWBSENo = drpdwnWBSE.Selected.Value ||
         drpdwnWBSE.Selected.Value = Blank()
      ),
      (
         WorkOrder = drpdwnWO.Selected.Value ||
         drpdwnWO.Selected.Value = Blank()
      ),
   ),
   ProjectTitle,
   SortOrder.Ascending
)

your requirements 1 and 5 seem to contradict each other

tglActive = true AND drpdwnWO is Blank() AND drpdwnWBSE = Blank()

tglActive = false AND drpdwnWO is Blank() AND drpdwnWBSE = Blank()

Hello @WarrenBelz Thanks for the response (you are correct, what I posted was a mess).  I'm trying to step through the Filter/Sort and was unable to use the Index function as you had suggested.  The following is working to a point but I have not added all viewing options.  I did pick up the "Last(FirstN)" from a Google search.

Filter(
ShortFormII,
Or(
IsBlank(cbGrps.SelectedItems),
IsEmpty(cbGrps.SelectedItems),
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,1)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,2)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,3)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,4)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,5)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,6)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,7)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,8)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,9)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,10)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,11)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,12)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,13)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,14)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,15)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,16)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,17)).WrkCtr,
GrpChoice = Last(FirstN(cbGrps.SelectedItems,18)).WrkCtr
)
)

@RJF61 ,

Actually Index is the correct and more efficient approach if you do do not want to pre-filter using a With statement and then simply using one in filter. It was more the other comments that I thought needed clarification. Example using your existing code

With(
   {
      _Data:
      Sort(
         Filter(
            ShortFormII,
            Active = tglActive.Value,
            (
               IDWBSENo = drpdwnWBSE.Selected.Value ||
               Len(drpdwnWBSE.Selected.Value) = 0
            ),
            (
               WorkOrder = drpdwnWO.Selected.Value ||
               Len(drpdwnWO.Selected.Value) = 0
            )
         ),
         ProjectTitle,
         SortOrder.Ascending
      )

   },
   Filter(
      _Data,
      ComboBox3.SelectedItems.WrkCtr in GrpChoice
   )
)

for this to work fully, the top filter needs to return less records than your Delegation limit.

@WarrenBelz Is there a reason the Index function doesn't work correctly?  Also, I believe I need...

IsBlank(cbGrps.SelectedItems),
IsEmpty(cbGrps.SelectedItems),

to display all records when there are no ComboBox selections.

@RJF61 ,

Len() = 0 covers both IsBlank and IsEmpty and is what I use without issues - you can go back to what you have as well. Index should work as it is essentially the same as Last(FirstN) with less code (and is what I have used since it was introduced), however I now notice your comment on checkboxes and am wondering how this relates to the Combo Box. The main point however is your initial question and the points I raised on what it is exactly you want in the output.

Hi @WarrenBelz Still struggling with this.  So I have the following gallery.  In the example below, I would expect to see HEAT and PROJECT1 records (selected in red box) where they are "Inactive" and "Incomplete" (from the green box).  The red box is a gallery with Items set to Sort(Filter(WorkCenter,ProjectGrp=true),WrkCtr).  Each item has the Text property set to ThisItem.WrkCtr.  The combo box cbGrps has the Items property also set to Sort(Filter(WorkCenter,ProjectGrp=true),WrkCtr).  Typically cbGrps Visible is set to false.  The pic at the bottom is a portion of the data entry form where the WrkCtr is selected.

Sort(

WorkCenter = Index(cbGrps.SelectedItems,1).WrkCtr,
WorkCenter = Index(cbGrps.SelectedItems,2).WrkCtr,

drpdwnWO.Selected.Value = Blank()
),
ProjectTitle,
SortOrder.Ascending

)

With this I am receiving the following error:  Invalid number of arguments: received 1, expected 2-3.

please try

Sort(
    Filter(
        YourTable,
        Or(
            IsBlank(cbGrps.SelectedItems),
            IsEmpty(cbGrps.SelectedItems),

            WorkCenter = Index(cbGrps.SelectedItems,2).WrkCtr,
            ... (and so on for other WorkCenter conditions) ...
        ),
        Active = tglActive.Value,
        Complete = tglComplete.Value,

Hi @RJF61 ,

Hello @WarrenBelz  I am using the suggested code you provided on Thursday.  At this point I am not seeing all records in the gallery.

RJF61_0-1701808122267.png

For the records shown, both are WrkCtr = PROJECT1; however PROJECT1 is not selected in the series of check boxes.  I I select PROJECT1, both of these records clear from the display.  In addition, there are are also the following situations...

1.  There are currently (67) projects that are "Active" but as shown only (2) of those are displaying

2.  All (67) projects are also "Incomplete"

Any initial suggestions on where to look for the omission or error?
