Gallery and edit form on different Screens

Hi All.

I have created a Gallery linked to a SharePoint list, due to the size of the list I can't have the form and Gallery on the same screen as I have previously with much smaller lists.

The Gallery displays as it should do, so how do I view the gallery item in a form separate screen (can be edit mode)? On the same screen. If the form and Gallery were on the same screen, on the form Items I would just enter GalleryName.Selected but this doesn't work when the form is on a different page.

Gallery.Selected references are global, so this should work. One thing to note is the Gallery.Selected reference will not natively be a record from a data source, it includes the controls and everything from the gallery. Therefore, for your Form, you may need to use LookUp() to pull in the actual record that is selected.

Let me clear some points,

1. You're using Gallery for viewing Records on the screen.

2. You require a Form to Edit record same as the Gallery Item which is Selected.

3. Your Gallery and Form are separate controls.

For this,
1. You can have both Gallery and Form on the same screen.

   a. Use containers with variables. 1 container for Gallery and 2nd for Form. 
       Layout is all on you, either side to side with dynamic width or Form as Pop-up Window.

2. You can use different Screen.

   a. Your Gallery.Selected will work but you can also use Global variable to access data on other screen or pass Context variable as argument for other screen.

Note: Your controls/elements can be overlapped. Use size property correctly for pop-up or re-sizing width.

You only need to manage such formulas to make it work correctly.

Hope this gives you a high level idea of designing the app.

Thank you for your input, this issue is now resolved. 

However, it would be useful for me to ask this without posting another topic. 

The datacards with dropdown fields are highlighted in the form, I know to clear this highlight I remove the text from SelectionTagFill.

However, I have a DataCard called 'Action Plan', this is a 'Yes No' dropdown. I would like the text to be highlighted in light red IF 'Yes' is selected and clear if 'NO' is selected

Is this possible?

Yes, you'll use the Fill property of the Datacard.

Is this a Yes/No column in Dataverse or just text? Below is an example using the status column from the Dataverse Accounts table. You'll do something similar by referencing your Yes/No column followed by .Yes or .No

If your dropdown is simply just text, you'll replace the'Status (Accounts)'.Active and 'Status (Accounts)'.Inactive with just "Yes" or "No"
