Gallery1.Selected.title

Hi,

Quick question here?

I have decided to replace the typical Gallery1.selected.title......etc for:

Set(varCustomerName, ThisItem.Title).

Now in several screens I want to use that value.

the problem is, it looks like the value for some reason is cached somewhere or I guess and if I select an item in my gallery navigate to another screen the I come back to my gallery select a different item navigate to another screen the first item selected stays there.

Any idea what is going on? or how I can solve this?

Which property/action sets the variable?  Does this expression meet your need?

Set(varCustomerName, Gallery1.Selected.Title)

Thanks for the additional info.  I tried to reproduce it unsuccessfully, putting a label on another page after setting the variable as you are doing.  It shows the updated variable with the new selection when I go back and forth.  Where are you using the variable?  Does it work in a label to narrow down the issue you are seeing?

Hi, is weird sometime it works sometimes no. I mean it seems like it takes time to update the variable.

That gallery is connected to a collection could be that the issue?

Not sure what is going on.  It should be quick.  Is there something else happening first that is running slow?

Is weird. I am just replacing the gallery1.selected whatever is required in other screens. But after I select a different value from my gallery to navigate to a new screen it keeps the old value or other value like caching the data.

Well, it looks like the action OnSelect of the gallery is not doing the job. I am checking the global variables and they are not updated after selected a different item in the gallery

Hi, I did this and it seems like is updating the variables :

1. Place a Button (name: Button1) and set Visible property to false

2. onSelect Button property I have all my variables

3. In the gallery I have the OnSelect = Select(Button1)

This is the only way so far that the variable gets updated, but I have to press the button. I would like this to be automatically when the user select an item in the gallery. And that is the way that is supposed to.

I think that we are getting closer
