Get the e-mail address of the selected user in a SharePoint list

I have a list with several users, but I want to pull the e-mail of that selected user from my SharePoint list in the Office365users connector

The field where I will save is a text column

I have tried this:

Filter(UsuáriosdoOffice365.SearchUser({searchTerm:TextInput1.Text; top:999}); OfficeLocation <>Blank())

LookUp(colUserO365;DisplayName =DataCardValue1.Selected.Result  /*'Nome (field_5)'*//*).CompanyName

"CompanyName" here was just for test...

Thanks community!

Check the items property in your combobox, pick an entry and try to find that user with the free text temporary search you currently have. Now get a look at the field values returned for that user from the search users action to see where the difference is. If there is not an exact match between your dropdown value and what the office users connector provides, you wont get any results. All it takes is for one character to be out of place, a comma, space etc.. and you won't get a hit because you are trying to match the entire string

I dont get it, you wanna I put the last code you provided on a TextInput?

And get the value on another TextInput?

No I just meant to use what you used in your previous post (your textinput1) to get some results from your officeusers.searchusers and then look at those results to try and identify where the difference is between the values being selected in the combobox, vs the office365user values which it is trying to match I.e. is it lower case vs upper case.. there must be some difference which is causing no results from your query when using the drop down.

What's the items property of your combobox can you provide a screenshot of the items table?.. also can you provide a screenshot of the results table returned from the office365user.searchusers query, ideally showing the same user shown in your combobox items?

Thanks

Sorry, I'm late

The items from my combobox is:

/*Search(UsuáriosdoOffice365.SearchUserV2({searchTerm:Self.SearchText;top:999}).value;DataCardValue1.SearchText;"DisplayName")*/DataSource.'Nome (field_5)'

And on my items gallery:

Search(Filter(UsuáriosdoOffice365.SearchUser({searchTerm:TextInput1.Text; top:999}); OfficeLocation <>Blank());TextInput1.Text;"DisplayName")

Hi @Gorilla_8

My understanding of your objective here from the original post and discussion to this point was that you want to select a user in a drop down and grab the email string for that selected user - Please see the following example where this has been achieved using a static label to display the 'Mail' property of the selected user.

Combobox Items property - Search must be enabled

Label text property

Is this what you are trying to achieve? - If not, please can you provide further context with screenshots?

Hope this helps

Worked! But... There is a way to search multiple words to get the email on combobox?

@Gorilla_8 - Do you want to display the email address in the combobox selection, but have the ability to search by say displayname?

If so, you can just modify the delections under teh combobox Data section as per below to make 'Mail' the Primary field, 'DisplayName' secondary field and 'DisplayName' the Search field.

No, I want it to search by full name or two words when the user digity

@Gorilla_8 - The SearchUserV2 action Filters users with a 'StartsWith' function on the fields highlighted below - This can sometimes be hit and miss if users don't know exactly what they are looking for as you need an exact match between what the user types and the start of the string in each of the search fields below.

AmDev_0-1640280513042.png

How many users are there in total in you Office365Users Table? - if delegation isn't a problem for you and you really want a contains search which yields more results, an option would be to avail of the inbuilt search function in the combobox. Essentially, the items property becomes your users table without the nested  'searchTerm' - then the combobox search function uses a full contains search on the fields you decide to include in the 'SearchFields' property.

See below where the latter full search arrangement has been used

AmDev_1-1640282703617.png

In this example, note the 'SearchFields' property - even though, there is only the option to select one field under the 'Data' panel, when you go to advanced, you can add multiple fields to 'SearchFields'- here I have searched using the following text "ist", which got a hit for the word 'assistant', which is in the 'JobTitle' (even though I have not displayed JobTitle in the combobox).

In terms of searching using two words in the same search input (in this case combobox searchtext), if I am right in understanding what you mean, there is no way to have one control be input with 2 words adn then search different fields for the occurrence of either word separately. If you search with 2 or more words, the only way you would get a hit in your search results is if the exact string as you have typed it, including spaces is included in one of the fields being searched.

The only way to search based on multiple terms in different fields is to use multiple inputs and extend the expression to include any additional terms you want processed in the search.

Hope this helps
