Help for compare Date With gallery

Hello;

I am in the process of creating a schedule for the management of video broadcasting channel on the internet.

I have a column with the title of the event. Another with the start date. Another with the end dates and then a column with the following choice: channel1; channel2; canal3…. Channel7.

I am looking for a feature that will allow me to display the available channels when I click on the title of my event in the gallery.

Do you think you can help me? I put an example in attachment .

Thank you

I Tried this function : If(Gallery1.Selected.DateStart < DateValue(DateStart.text); true) . It doesn't work.... thank you

Hi @dciemniewski ,

Firstly, your graphic is below as it is far easier to refer to when it is visible in the thread.

ButtonHide.png

I assume here that "available channels" are ones that are available at least one day during the duration of the selected channel? Your examples are a bit confusing as you have two different outcomes to the same selection, but I will go with my theory for the moment. I have also assumed some field names here and you will need to add your List name. This is an example to Canal 1 button - you will need to change the ID for each and put this on the Visible of the button.

With(
   {
      wItem:
      LookUp(
         YourListName,
         ID=1
      ),
      wStart:Gallery1.Selected.'Start Date',
      eEnd:Gallery1.Selected.'End Date'
   },
   (wStart >= wItem.'Start Date' && wStart <=wItem.'End Date') ||
   (wEnd >= wItem.'Start Date' && wEnd <=wItem.'End Date')
)

Thank you @WarrenBelz for your reply! I am a little lost.

I inserted your formula in the Channel 1 button in VISIBLE but it doesn't work.

Spoiler

With(
{
wItem:
LookUp(
SuperAppli;
ID=1
);
wStart:Gallery1.Selected.Date_x0020_et_x0020_heure_x0020_;
wEnd:Gallery1.Selected.Date_x0020_de_x0020_d_x00e9_but_
};
(wStart >= wItem.'Date_x0020_et_x0020_heure_x0020_' && wStart <=wItem.'Date_x0020_de_x0020_d_x00e9_but_') ||
(wEnd >= wItem.'Date_x0020_et_x0020_heure_x0020_' && wEnd <=wItem.'Date_x0020_de_x0020_d_x00e9_but_')
)

I will try to rephrase my problem.

I have events with start dates and end dates. I assign them a channel. Either channel 1, or channel 2, or channel 3….

When there is a new event that has been created, I must assign it a channel that is available throughout the period of this new event. To see what is available, I put 7 labels. Label channel 1, label channel 2… .. up to label channel 7.

These labels should be visible if, when I click on the new event in the gallery, the channel is available.
Hope my request is understandable.

Name of my list : SuperAppli
Name of my column start date: Date_x0020_and_x0020_heure_x0020_
Name of my column end date: Date_x0020_de_x0020_d_x00e9_but_
Name of my channel column: Canal_x0020_de_x0020_stream_x002

I use Powerapps in French and I replace , with ;

Thank you for your help, and I take this opportunity to wish you my best wishes for 2021.

David

@dciemniewski ,

OK - I simply had it in the Reverse - you want to make sure the dates DO NOT exist anywhere in the others. I think this is the answer, but this is more a logic than a coding syntax exercise so

With(
   {
      wItem:
      LookUp(
         SuperAppli;
         ID=1
      );
      wStart:Gallery1.Selected.Date_x0020_et_x0020_heure_x0020_;
      wEnd:Gallery1.Selected.Date_x0020_de_x0020_d_x00e9_but_
   };
   wStart > wItem.Date_x0020_de_x0020_d_x00e9_but_ || wEnd < wItem.Date_x0020_et_x0020_heure_x0020_
)

What it is saying is the selected start date is after the Channel 1 end date OR the selected end date is before the channel 1 start date.

Thank you @WarrenBelz for your reply!
I tried your answer but it doesn't work. I am sorry. I tried the following formula but it doesn't work. I made a new diagram; I continue my research but if you have an idea, I am interested. thank you so much.

With(
   {
      wItem:
      LookUp(
         SuperAppli;
         ID=1
      );
      wStart:Gallery1.Selected.Date_x0020_et_x0020_heure_x0020_;
      wEnd:Gallery1.Selected.Date_x0020_de_x0020_d_x00e9_but_
   };
   wStart < wItem.Date_x0020_et_x0020_heure_x0020_  &&  wEnd < wItem.Date_x0020_et_x0020_heure_x0020_
   ||  wStart > wItem.Date_x0020_de_x0020_d_x00e9_but_ )

Présentation1.png

Hi @dciemniewski ,

I must admit this did my head in a bit for a while, but the logic (on the Channel 1 Button) if you make the (I hope correct) assumption that the start date will always before or equal to the end date on both items then putting this out in full.

Channel1.EndDate is less than Selected.StartDate (the whole selected period is AFTER Channel1 period) OR

Channel1.StartDate is greater than Selected.EndDate (the whole selected period is BEFORE Channel1 period)

With(
   {
      wItem:
      LookUp(
         SuperAppli;
         ID=1
      );
      wStart:Gallery1.Selected.Date_x0020_et_x0020_heure_x0020_;
      wEnd:Gallery1.Selected.Date_x0020_de_x0020_d_x00e9_but_
   };
   wItem.Date_x0020_de_x0020_d_x00e9_but_ < wStart ||
   wItem.Date_x0020_et_x0020_heure_x0020_ > wEnd
)

so my logic was almost there in structure - just had it backwards.

@WarrenBelz In fact, I think it can't work because the event without channel is also in the gallery .... I'll try to find another function. Thank you for helping me.
