Highlight Gallery Selected Item If Statement

Hello,

I currently have the TemplateFill property of my home screen gallery set to If(ThisItem.IsSelected,LightBlue,White) and it is working as expected. As the user clicks from item to item in the gallery, the row is highlighted. 

When the user submits a new request form they are automatically redirected back to the home screen gallery and a notification appears across the top that their item was successfully submitted. There is a bit of a visual disconnect as the item they just submitted is not highlighted, some other item is. Is there a way I can adjust my If formula to accommodate both of these needs?

Did you try the formula I gave you to drop the attachments columns?  That is usually the issue unless you have other complex column types in your list - do you?

Just to be clear...having for the Default property on your Gallery - yourForm.LastSubmit will 95% of the time work flawlessly.  But, that other 5% is because there is some column that is messing with the results - it just needs to be dropped.

Hello Randy,

Thank you for the reply. I did try it. I added a test label to the home screen with the Text property formula you suggested and it is coming up blank. In order for your approach to work, do I need to enter a formula into the OnSuccess property of the Form. I removed the latest variable suggestion from v-Msft when trying your formulas one more time.

Couple questions :

1) What is your Default Form Mode?  

2) What is your current Items property on the Gallery (sorry lost track and not sure if we got that changed)

3) What is the Item property of your Form?

4) What is the Datasource property of your Form?

I have a few more, but we might be able to solve this with answers on the above.

Hi Randy,

I've attached a screenshot of the new request form. There are a number of complex fields including a dropdown that autofills to other fields in the row.

(The Item property of my Edit form which is on a separate screen is varRecord. That variable is set on the gallery nav arrow. When clicked it takes the user to the selected item. No issues there.)

Hi Randy,

Here is a snapshot of the gallery. There are 3 columns blurred because they are from an active project list. 2 of the columns are person fields and 1 is a text field.

Thank you for the information.  There a a few things we can go for, but I want to verify one thing first.

Please put a Label on your screen and set the Text property to frmNewRequest.LastSubmit.ID

Then submit another item through the form and let me know what you see in that label.

I inserted the label, put the formula into the Text property, submitted a new form and got nothing back. I've attached a screenshot. I started work at O dark thirty this morning so I'm going to log off now. Have a nice evening.
