Highlight a row within gallery

Hello Everyone 🙂

I would like to highlight a row in my gallery if it is selected,

In particular if the info icon of that row is selected, is this possible?

I would also need a way of clearing the row selection when the person has finished navigating/selecting.

Thank you - @iAm_ManCat , i understand i think now. Sorry im not quite sure on all of the terminology just yet.

I don't have an ID column setup, im using an excel file saved within Sharepoint as my data source.

I would have hopefully other fields that i could use for this? my gallery is a series of text inputs that are forming my table. Would one of these be suitable as a replacement for the 'ID'?

Ok no problem - so what I'm looking for is something that we can check to see if its This row - how do you know which row is which - is there some kind of identifier like a unique name or something that would on its own be able to identify that particular row?

If you don't then I think @Drrickryp's approach would be better suited in this case.

My rows have some unique values, for example the employee id. However this may not be truly unique as could have been entered previously, maybe a unique value would be made so with a combination of for example employee id column and month. if that is possible?

Ok, so we can do something like that yes, we can combine both those values if those will equate to a unique filter 🙂

OnSelect:

Thank you very much, this is very close to working now.

At the moment it seems to only highlight the delete icon area and the more info area.

Is there something missing that would be needed to get the whole row highlighted perhaps?

I would suspect the other labels/text/controls in your rows have a Fill of White instead of Transparent - so you can't see the background Fill behind them?

Thank you so much @iAm_ManCat ! this worked the row is now highlighted and looks great,.

I just had an attempt to remove the highlight with an icon with the reset(gallery) OnChange as recommended by Drrickryp but it doesn't seem to work, do you know why that might be? Don't worry if not you have already helped me so much.

No worries, happy to help get you to the home stretch - If you used the code I provided above, you should be able to select the same item and it will clear, and if you want it to be a button then you only need your 'clear selection' button to do this:
