Not sure if you found a fix for this and I was unable to find a direct way of doing this but there is a work around that you can do using collections.

On the screen where your tab component is, set the "On Visible" property to

ClearCollect(galtabs,["Title1","Title2","Title3"]);

For your tab component set the below properties

  1. Items = galtabs
  2. DefaultSelectedItem = First(galtabs)

On any button that navigates away from the screen where your tab is, set the "On Select" property to

Clear(galtabs)

Basically what this does is reloads the collection to the items property of your tab each time the page loads, its not the cleanest way but it was the only way I could find with no reset feature for this control

Hope this helps!

has its caveats (tab will disappear for a split second) but far more stable than my previous implementation of a tab-based section manager to navigate across screens, thx 🙂

Going back to this, if anyone else is using the tab list control as a means to navigate through different screens within the app quickly, I've found a better way of implementing this to improve maintenance:

1. In OnStart, use ClearCollect to initialise the collection that stores the information you need. In my case, I had three properties: display name, index, and screen name.

2. Across all screens where you have the tab list control to allow for navigation, do a ClearCollect in OnVisible that sets a differently-named collection to the collection you made in OnStart.

3. In the tab list Items property, set it to the collection you create in OnVisible. Make sure you set up Fields and also other necessary properties, such as DefaultSelectedItems. You may also want to assign the index of the screen in OnVisible as per the data you created in OnStart.

Now, if you ever have to make changes to what screens you can or can't navigate to, or its property, all you have to do is change the collection data in OnStart and run OnStart again, rather than going through every collection and changing its data.

This doesnt work for me as it only shows the first tab for me and the rest of the tabs disappear

Have you checked that you've set the fields in the tab list correctly + ran OnStart again? Most likely it's fields not being set correctly, as I went through a similar headache

Thank you @alecolli2 - that worked beautifully.

Once suggestion would be to put the "Clear(galtabs)" line of code on the screen's "OnHidden" action to reset the tab back to the default Tab.

Thanks alot @alecolli2  i wish this issue would have been fixed sooner

I found a way, just by setting the default tab variable as blank, then giving it a new default variable.

This doesn't trigger the 'onselect' property of the tab control, so also had to trigger that manually.

Tab Control
Items:

 Table( [
	{text: "Page 1",tab: 1},
	{text: "Page 2",tab: 2},
	{text: "Page 3",tab: 3}
    	] )

OnSelect:

Set(tabSelected,tabSection4.Selected.tab);

 DefaultSelectedItems:

defaultTab

Then to get other controls to reset it correctly on their
OnSelect: (Most likely work with page on visible as well)

Set(defaultTab,Blank());
Set(defaultTab,{text: "Page 2", tab:2});
Set(tabSelected,2);
