How do i get my app to select something?

I'm working on an app that's connected to a sharepoint list.  on the left i have a combobox to select a person, and that filters the gallery view below, which ultimatley controls what data is displayed in the main section.  i'm having an issue where every other time i change the user, it selects nothing, instead of the first record.  it doesnt matter who the person is, it just alternates between showing data, and showing no data.

For example: the first person, Christina, automatically loads the record for her first group in the list, which is  ***** Group.

When i chose the next person on the list, Sean, his first case Network ******** is not selected and i get a no items displayed message.  

it is every other time, so if i was to select a 3rd user, and then go back to Christina, i would see the No items to display message for her.   is there a command i should run when i change the urser in the drop down box?

Well, a great way to debug an app is through the Monitor feature.
Go ahead and check through this feature what might be going on. In parallel, send an example of your formula that makes the filter so that we can analyze it.

this is the formula on the gallery

i'll try using the monitor to see fi i can figure somehtign out,

@LuizVicente   i can see a difference between the runs that succeed, and the ones that fail,  but i'm not really sure how to read the monitor output

That is good.
If you can share a little bit of information, I think it will help us.
Alternatively, I believe you could decrease the complexity of your formula to:

Sort(
    GroupBy(
        'PostEnrollment-NB',
        "UnderwriterTxt",
        "ID",
        "Data"
    ),
    UnderwriterTxt
)

And in the Items property of the Gallery:

Sort(
    Filter(
        'PostEnrollment-NB',
        UnderwriterTxt  = ComboBox1.Selected.UnderwriterTxt 
    ),
    ProspectName
)

Other things you can check is that the data is correct in the SharePoint list. It seems to me that the information is "last name, first name", right?

@LuizVicente  i tired to implement your formulas with mixed success,

this gave me a list but with out the removal of duplicates that i have using distinct, so my combo box looked like this.

the other formula game me an error about incompatible types for comparison.

my names are stored as last, first

This is weird. GroupBy groups equal values, so it shouldn't show duplicates. Unless it has white space or any other character that makes each value different from the other.
If not, try removing "ID". I just put it as an example, I don't know if you will use this information.

For the other error, what kind of data does UnderwriterTxt contain?
