How do you connect gallery items to their specific datacards when a gallery item is selected

I am trying to design a "sign-off" page where the user clicks on a clearance sheet (shown in the gallery on the lefthand side of the screen), which then displays the corresponding sign off page (shown as a datacard on the right), where the user will click the sign off buttons to say that something has been done for that sheet. Since there are multiple different sheets, how do I use code to connect each new sheet created with their corresponding sign off page?

Someone told me try updatecontext or patch but I'm very new to power apps and don't know how to code it. If someone knows how to do this can you please explain step by step what lines of code to do?

For each new sheet created in the gallery, a fresh sign off page should come up so that the user can start the sign off process again.

Any help appreciated 🙂

Ive attached what I'm seeing in the advance section.

My environment does not have the option to create a separate card control item. Cards are created after the form is created. How did you create your card?

All i did was go Add new screen > Templates > Scrollable, and then when you expand the new screen it comes up with a Canvas button under it and then also a DataCard button under that, so the datacard is within the canvas.

Is there another way i can create a scrollable big box where i can add all the rectangles and buttons instead of using a data card?

Happy to give you access to the app if u need

@shreya_b You can try to create a gallery in this datacard, and then put all the contents into the gallery.

just tried to play around with it and that doesnt really work.

Hmmm is there some other way i can change the layout maybe ? Is the main issue because the buttons are all in a datacard?

do u know how to code it so if:

i get rid of all those rectangles on the right hand side in the data card, and i delete the datacard and start from scratch again but keep the left hand side gallery, then i have step 1 that shows when the user logs in to sign off the sheet, and they can check a box to sign it off, and then somehow it goes to the next step and the next user can sign off step 2 (check the box). So instead of having 20 buttons i just have one on the screen at all times but changes depending on the step its up to?

@shreya_b If you don’t want to adjust the layout, you need to set the default attribute of all text labels, which are labels whose content will be adjusted, to the variable name test.column_name.

@shreya_b Can you provide a screenshot after adjustment?

Ok ive now changed the whole layout so there is no more datacard.

In the attached items, u can see that there is a 'current sheets' page, and an arrow where the user can sign off the sheet, which navigates to the big sign off page. This page isn't a gallery, just has sign off buttons the user needs to click.

What logic do I use to link each gallery item to their own respective refreshed sign off page?

I am trying to make the buttons as a chain reaction series, so when the user clicks the first sign off button, it will send an email to the next user (power automate) to go into the app and click the next button to sign off the process step.

I know exactly what I want my app to do just struggling a lot with the logic.

So currently you split the layout into two pages and then deleted the data card?

If you want to link each gallery item to their respective refreshed check-in page, of course the easiest way to manage is gallery+gallery or gallery+form, because the gallery can distinguish each independent item, and of course the data table can also be used, but The gallery layout is easier to adjust.
