How to autoheight my gallery items

Hello,

So I have this calendar gallery that looks like this :

CharlesBrewer_0-1685567916173.png

I thought the height was working, or at least it does when I initially load the app. I am realizing now when I edit one, or if I add an item via the app itself, it is not working.

The fill is coming from a rectangle. The rectangle height I have set as Label1.Height+Label2.Height. Currently the TemplateSize is set to a static 90. I try to set the Template size to the same as above, but they just collapse onto each other, it reads the heights as blank.

Height of your boxes should be: RoundUp(CountIf(Split(Label8.Text, ""), true)/35,1)*40

If you have questions about this formula just ask away. Also can cut and paste parts of it into a label to see the output. good luck! 🙂

Assuming label1 and label2 height is static

TemplateSize: Label1.Height+Label2.Height

Issue when you set template size with formula could be because of template Padding or Label1.Y is not zero or if there is a gap between label1 and label2.

its always better to give padding of atleast 5 and temp size :Label1.Height+Label2.Height+10

I tried that it doesn't work. I put it in as my rectangle height and I assumed you meant label2, not 8 for me

RoundUp(CountIf(Split(Label2.Text, ""), true)/35,1)*40

I put the height for this guy

@developerAJ  They aren't static though, that's why I need the height to change, specifically for label 2, which will vary based on the text they put in.

Yeah label8 was the code for my example in the video. Also I was using a label as well yes. I am not sure how you are implementing it but what I gave you obviously does what you asked. Now we just have to figure out how to tailor it to your specific design needs. I also built a calendar app and so I will try to implement this on my end later on today and get back to you!

Let me know what other info I can give you I guess, there are so many height controls. If it matters that Gallery 6 is nested within another gallery. But other than that there are just those 3 things, label1, label2, and the rectangle. I was using the rectangle to try to push the height but I technically do not need it if I can just use the label height. Do I need to put anything special for template height for the gallery?

@CharlesBrewer

i tried to do gallery template size dynamic before but i guess it does not work when you have a label height dynamic

first item:70 second item:80 third item:60

our requirement is like template size should be 70 ,80,60....

but template size remains 70 constant.

thats my experience but i am not sure if there are ways to achieve it

So I am back. I put your code back in for the label height. For testing I added another label to show the label2.height, and sure it is coming back with all different numbers.

CharlesBrewer_0-1685726820698.png

I think it comes down to the TemplateSize, but it won't seem to recognize label2.height, it just says blank. Which is weird to me, I can do label2.Y and that produces a number.

You know what, I think I figured it out. I think I was just using a "gallery." I am in the midst of rebuilding it and made sure I chose "flexible gallery" and with some testing I think it's working better now. The only thing I don't seem to like is it seems the longer thing you type the more top/bottom padding there is, as an example (this is WIP for testing):

Notice the differences in what comes off as padding there.
