How to collect many data from one column in gallery

Hi, I'm facing problem where I need to input many data in one column

This is the scenario I faced:

PTDamia_0-1671153993980.png

This is the gallery of case from SharePoint. When user choose big case or small case, it will navigate user to another page where user need to input value of part number of the case.

When user scan the part number, the value will automatically be inserted into collection below. but somehow, I can't solve the problem.

This is column in SharePoint. it didn't appear. Supposedly in one case, there's more than one part number (in collection). Is it possible to do? Thank you in advance and sorry for not include the code because it's too messy since it didn't work 😞

Now from the Start:

Change Your Sharepoint List remove Small BB and Big BB

You will need only the Screen that you are using for Big Parts

In all Labels and all controls what You use for Big Parts, change the Visibility property to

varTypeBB = "Big"

Add this code base on the buttons Big and Small.

UpdateContext({varTypeBB:"Big"})

UpdateContext({varTypeBB:"Small"})

Now Scan

You need to replace the Input Text with Scan Button. You can find it under Insert > Media > Barcode Scanner.

SebS_0-1671160766848.png

In the Scanner property OnScan You need to add this code.

Collect(colScanned,{PartNumber:Self.Value})

Now the tricky part is the control what I marked. You need to replace it with a blank Vertical Gallery and in Items place colScanned, then add the label ThisItem.PartNumber

SebS_1-1671160912558.png

and the last one will be the final patch

In Patch Part Number button You will need to add the code make sure You put name of Your SharePoint list

Patch(
    SharePoint List,
    ThisItem,
    {
        'Part Number BB': Concat(
            colScanned,
            PartNumber, Char(10)
        ),
        TypeBB: varTypeBB
    }
);
Clear(colScanned)

I'm not really getting what your problem is. Can you explain in more detail:

You have a collection of many Part numbers, and You want to add them from that collection to one cell in a specific column in the SharePoint list?

Is that the issue here?

Hii thank you for reply and sorry for the unclear statements. Here i provide the senario again.

Refer to the picture below, user select the item in the gallery. As you can see, the case number is different with other in the gallery (data provided only case not part number). So, user need to input the value of the part number of the case in the collection.

PTDamia_4-1671156346166.png

After user select the case from the gallery, user need to scan the part number. The part number can be more than one. After user scan the part number, user click the patch button.

PTDamia_2-1671156060339.png

This is example of the result after patch the item. And than user can proceed to another case to scan the part number

I have problem to collect data scan and patch the data to sharepoint.

PTDamia_6-1671156885510.png

This is what it supposed to look like in sharepoint. I hope you understand this scenario. Thank you 🙂

@PTDamia

I can help You to sort that it's not an issue, but few things I need to clarify:

  • The collection has Small BB and Big BB. Why not create only one column TypeBB and, based on the button, pass a variable to the collection if it's a big or small part in future? That will make Your life easier if you will look to filter by small or big parts.
  • Do You will in future search by Part number? Your approuch will kill your brain later if you will try to implement some search functionality to find Parts by part Number just saying.

Other than that, provide some code on how You create collection and how Your patch looking now to give me names of Columns and name of Sharepoint List and I will fix it for You

Ohh sure! Im not familiar with powerapps that much. Collection using typeBB may be easier for me but somehow there's a few extra information need to add for big. is there any problem if using the collection typeBB?

Small

PTDamia_0-1671159268689.png

Big

PTDamia_2-1671159638080.png

And Im not going to search part number in future, just to record the part number for documentation. Thank you !

@PTDamia

It will look like this.

And that how data will store after pressing Add
