How to connect items from two lists together?

Hi all, i have the following scenario that I'm unable to figure out.

I have two lists in SPO

1. Requests
2. approval documents

On the Request library, there is a lookup to the approval documents list.

In Power Apps, the user attache a file and then adds a title in a separate field.

On Submit button, the document is send to the approval document library, and the Title is patched to the Request library.

The problem is that the document and the request are not connected. I'm looking for a watch to patch the document, but also to connect the newly created document item ID with the Document lookup on the request list.

Any suggestions what should i modify in the formula to connect both item from both lists within the same Patch action together?

From your description, I can understand that you now have a flow to create the file to your document library and inside the Request list, there is a lookup column which is connected with the specific document library.

If this is the case, I recommend you to configure this lookup column like this:

Now we can use the flow "uploadfiletoSPOdocumentlibrary" to do the update item action by adding the "Update item" in the end of this flow directly:

But there are few things to care about at the same time:

Firstly, the title and id property should be passed from your canvas app in advance, your submit button formula should be:

    Title:inpTitle.Text,
    'Document type':dpd_type.Selected
}));

Inside the flow, please follow below steps to update the lookup column:

1. Click edit custom value:

2. Select the ItemId dynamic content generated by the create file action:

3. For the Id and Title column, please ignore my test value and select the value passed by the canvas app instead.

Hi @HenWang thank you for your reply and suggestion, but i'm getting an error message:

“Missing column. Your formula is missing a column ‘ContentBytes’ with a type of ‘Blob’”

“The function ‘Run’ has some invalid arguments”

I tried setup the ID as text but same error message

Sorry, I forgot to tell you that you need to go to edit the flow named uploadfiletoSPOdocumentlibrary firstly and do below action:

Click the "Ask in PowerApps" for both the ID column and the title column. Remember that for either column between Id and Title, only click the dynamic content(Ask in PowerApps) for once.

After you save this flow, please also re-add this flow in your canvas app button so that canvas app can work as expected. No need to change the formula in canvas app.

Did you remove the flow form the app and add it back to test? If you have change the app, the error message will at least be different.

@HenWangyep i did remove the flow from the app and deleted the formula, save the app, refresh the screen, added back the flow and then the formula, but still the same error message, weird!

If i remove this part of the formula inpTitle.Text,varRecord.ID and leave it like that

The error is received 1 expected 3, as soon as i add the first one i got the error message with the Blob

Your screenshot is pretty helpful. And according to the note showing up in your screenshot, the formula should have below sort to pass the value, please have one more try:
