How to do i get the HTML viewer with a checkbox to get data from yes no field of a sharepoint list for report genertating

Hello everyone,

Im sooooo close to being able to being able to generate a "report" from a inspection checklist i have created. One of the final pieces to be able to do this is this.-

To create this report I'm using HTML viewer and pulling data from a sharepoint list that has been updated when the user completes the checklist. I have created a Table to display this data (see picture attached) I have with the question being asked, a checkbox and a notes section. I have the questions displaying using LookUp(Questions,ID = 1).Title. same for notes.  I have tried to do the same for the checkbox but with no success, The column that contains the checkbox in the sharepoint list is set to Yes/No .

Does anyone know how i can can get the HTML code to look at a that certain field and apply it to the checkbox and display a tick if it was selected during the inspection?

Any help would be really appreciated,

Thanks,

Rob

You are a legend!! This worked!

I'm sure i have build my lines wrong but when i entered what you put it worked.

Cant thank you enough for your help

Rob

Hi @FLMike,

Soooooo turns out Power apps doesnt show checkboxes when you generate a PDF from the HTML viewer. I was thinking of a work around and thought i would reach out to see if its possible.

Currently as you are aware when the checkbox is ticked in the app its show as ticked in the html viewer, instead is there a way to show either a yes or no depending on if the checkbox is ticked in the app which also relates to the sharepoint list checkbox?

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

Rob

Hi @Theatreguy

Happy to help. I would prefer if they do on separate questions (even if you link to the other) both for my stats, but also so that they are truly searchable for others with maybe a similar question

Ok before

<td><label class='checkbox-label'><input type='checkbox'> </label></td>

Change this
<input type='checkbox'>

to
"<input type='checkbox'" & If(LookUp(Questions, ID = 1).Complete, " checked='checked' ") & "></label></td>"

Instead you would just do, and you of course need to put this somewhere in the correct line and maybe add other things in your "</td>" or ending "</td>" depending on what you are doing but thats it

"<td>" & If(LookUp(Questions, ID = 1).Complete, "Yes", "No") & "</td>"

If you like my answer, I would really appreciate if you please Mark it as Resolved, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

Cheers

Hi @FLMike

Thanks again for your assistance once again. It doesn't seem to want to work.

Before i continue i would be happy to start a new thread and i would copy and paste the question.

Original code in its entirety with the code you added

<td>" & LookUp(Questions,ID = 1).Title & "</td>
<td><label class='checkbox-label'><input type='checkbox'" & If(LookUp(Questions, ID = 1).Complete,checked='checked' ") & "</td>
<td><textarea class='notes' placeholder='Notes...'></textarea></td>

And this is the new code. If i have done this right it does not display anything

<td>"& LookUp(Questions,ID=1).Title&"</td>
<td> "& If(LookUp(Questions,ID=1).Complete 'yes','no') &"
<td><textarea> "& LookUp(Questions,ID=1).Notes&"</textarea></td>

Have i done this right?

Thanks,

Rob

Hi @Theatreguy

no you missed a Comma and should be double quotes around yes and no, not singles

 If(LookUp(Questions,ID=1).Complete 'yes','no')

you need
 If(LookUp(Questions,ID=1).Complete, "yes","no")

Here is an Example of mine I just did

"Show your <b><font color=blue>HTML</font>" & If(LookUp(TestList, Title="foo").Title ="My", "Yes", "No") & "</b> text here."

Hi @FLMike,

Apologizes for delay in replying... Newborn and all that.

That worked.. something simple as me not adding "

Thanks again as always,

Rob
