How to make a submit button Editable when a Button is selected but other wise mode is disabled

Hi,

I want the submit but to become active when the Calculate button has been pressed / selected.

Unfortunately, due to other formula's the Grand Total will not be blank if no values are in the Number of Tickets and Price of Tickets fields.  There are additional fields within the app that are  part of the calculation.

I've tried to add a formula  If(IsBlank(Button3_2.Pressed),DisplayMode.Edit,DisplayMode.Disabled) in the DisplayMode property with and with the IsBlank part..

To make the Submit button active only when the Calculate button has been pressed, you can use a variable that is set when the Calculate button is clicked. Here's how you can do it:

1. Set a variable on the OnSelect property of the Calculate button:

Set(varButtonPressed, true)

1. For the DisplayMode property of the Submit button, use this variable to determine if the button should be active:

If(varButtonPressed, DisplayMode.Edit, DisplayMode.Disabled)

So when the Calculate button is pressed, varButtonPressed becomes true, and the Submit button becomes active. If the variable is not set or is false, the Submit button remains disabled.

Try this 3-step process:

1. Reset a local variable at an appropriate point, e.g. the screen IsVisible property and / or when a new record is created:

UpdateContext({locCalculateButtonClicked:false});

2. When the Calculate button is clicked, set the local variable to true like this on the OnSelect property:

UpdateContext({locCalculateButtonClicked:true});

3. Then set the DisplayMode property to the following:

If(locCalculateButtonClicked, DisplayMode.Edit, DisplayMode.Disabled)

Hi,

Thank you all for your solutions.

There is a 2nd question which I'm banging my head against the wall.

Once the submit button is selected.  I want the screen to reset to it's default settings ready for another submission.

So the 

Calculate button as UpdateContext({varCalculatePressed:true})  On Select

Submit Button as If(varCalculatedPressed,Edit,Disabled) Display Mode

There is another button on a Popup that appears once the Submit button is selected

Submit Another as Set(varCalculatedPressed,Disabled) On select

On the Home screen for the button I have UpdateContext({varCalculatePressed:Disabled})

Also for the Return Ticket toggle I have UpdateContext({varTktRtn:!TktRtn})
I'm sure it it simple but think I'm getting my self confussed.

Would using App >OnStart be an option??

App.OnStart is useful for when the app initially loads.

However, if you navigate to another screen and want a reset to happen there, place the code in the screen's OnVisible property.

Alternatively, if you're staying on the same screen, place your reset code on the button click.

So I have numerous places where a new form can be submitted from.

The Home button 

After the submit button when 'Submit Another' is selected

And it seems that when the Return Tkt toggle is toggled to 'Yes' (Default in SharePoint is 'No') when a new form is required either from Home button or Submit Another button the toggle stays on 'Yes'

Is the formula(s) I'm using correct as it seems I'm using UpdateContext and Set??

If the same code is called from various places, consider creating a component which has a property containing the code. If you call that component property from all places, it avoids the need to duplicate your code throughout the app.

Regarding Set vs UpdateContext: my approach to deciding which is best to use is the following:

• Set: Global variables accessible from anywhere in the app.
• UpdateContext: Context variables accessible by that screen only.
