How to run always the same formula from different controls

Hello to all,

The question may seem trivial but how can I always recall the same formula from different controls without having to rewrite it?

Let me explain: I have a complex formula connected to a vertical gallery.

I would like to associate the same formula with a refresh button or recall the entire formula after another action.

How can I do?

Let's suppose you define your common formula in the OnSelect property of a button. (It's possible to hide this button by setting the visible property to false, if you choose to do so)

From another control, you can call this formula calling the Select function.

This technique can avoid code duplication but one thing to note is that the scope of the shared formula is limited to the screen (ie, you can't call code on buttons that exist on different screens).

There is no good solution when the same code has to be executed from different screens. I found a solution that works great for me:

1. Have a component that is present on all the screens that you want to execute the code from. In my case, the app banner.

2. Put your code in the OnReset property of the component

3. From any screen, you just have to write this formula: Reset(name_of_the_INSERTED_component).

I say the INSERTED component, as opposed to the name of the component itself, which would throw an error. I found out that that it is ok to reset the same inserted component no matter what screen you are on, and it always triggers the code
