How to submit multiple changes in multiple items in a gallery at once?

I have a gallery and a 2 forms. One form to edit some fields from the item and one form to display some fields from the item.

How can I make changes in the edit form for multiple items in the gallery and save all changes at once?

This is what I have in the submit button but save the changes for 1 item only:

SubmitForm(Form2);
Refresh('Return to Office – Employee Selection');
Navigate(Screen1,ScreenTransition.None)

Sharepoint list.

I mean in the powerapps formula.

i am not sure what to use as col and val that is why i ask for a real example with a real col and val.

go through this article will give you an idea about SharePoint list column and values as the operations using Patch function:
https://sharepains.com/2019/11/11/using-power-apps-patch-to-create-a-sharepoint-list-item/

I hope this resolved your issue if you see any challenge let me know I am always happy to help.

Krishna

The issue is that changes are made via drop down lists.

Col1.Val1

how would you type it in? Give me an example for a Sharepoint column and value for that column.

you can you use any column from your Sharepoint list that its a choice column.

thank you.

Hi @andygp25 ,

Do you want the Edit form to connect to multiple items in your Gallery, and submit multiple Item changes once time?

If you want the Edit form to connect to multiple items in your Gallery, and submit multiple Item changes once time, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs using Edit form control.

The Edit form control could only be connected to single one record from a data source in Power Apps canvas app currently, you could not use it to connect to multiple records simultaneously.

As an alternative solution, I think Gallery control could achieve your needs. You could consider configure your Gallery as a Editable GRID, then you could edit the item data directly within the Gallery. You could add a "Submit" button outside the Gallery, use the ForAll function and Patch function to patch the changes you made within this Gallery to your SP List itself.

Please check my response within the following thread for more details:

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Adding-multiple-entries-within-app/m-p/47911...

On your side, set the OnSelect property of the "Submit" button outside the Gallery to following:

ForAll(
       RenameColumns(BrowseGallery1.AllItems, "ID", "ID1"),
       Patch(
             'Your SP List',
             LookUp('Your SP List', ID = ID1),
             {
                Column1: TextInput1.Text,
                Column2: TextInput2.Text,
                Column3: TextInput3.Text,
                ...
                ...
             }
       )
)

Note: I assume that your data source is a SP List

I am getting an error in value

Hi @andygp25 ,

Have you taken a try with the solution I provided above?

Where do you put your If formula that you mentioned?

Based on the formula that you mentioned, I think there is something wrong with the "Value" Referenced within your Collect function.

Please check if you have referenced proper column value within your Collect function. If you want to collect your form data into a collection, please reference the Data card value directly from your Edit form within your Collect function.

I assume that you want to save your Form2 data into a collection, please modify your formula as below:

If(
    Form2.Unsaved,
    Collect(ColModifiedData, Form2.Updates)
)

You could also consider reference the Data card values from the Edit form directly as below:

If(
    Form2.Unsaved,
    Collect(
            ColModifiedData,
            {
               ID: Gallery1.Selected.ID,
               Which_x0020_Date_x0020_Can_x0020: DataCardValuexx.Text
            }
    )
)

If you want to assign a Date value for the 'Which Date Can' column in above collection, please modify as below:

If(
    Form2.Unsaved,
    Collect(
            ColModifiedData,
            {
               ID: Gallery1.Selected.ID,
               Which_x0020_Date_x0020_Can_x0020: DatePickerxx.SelectedDate
            }
    )
)
