Hi,
I have connected my app with 2 sharepoint lists
1: Employee_Induction collection(test)
2: Managers_Schedule collection (test2)
Now in one of my screen I have a gallery of Employee_Induction in which I have a small bar with condition that if user name who is currently using app is in Managers_Schedule and This item's employee name which eventually is coming from Employee_Induction is in Managers_Schedule then change text of that bar to completed otherwise pending.
Now both above conditions should be true in a row and my code looks like below
If(And(User().FullName in test2.Name, ThisItem.'Employee Name'.Email in test2.employeeNameInText),"Completed", Not(And(User().FullName in test2.Name, ThisItem.'Employee Name'.Email in test2.employeeNameInText,"Pending")))
However all records in the gallery are showing completed even any row is not matching the above both conditions.
Am I missing something or am I doing something wrong?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Yes but its not working with it however I have tried to add lookup in the formula and its working as expected.
If(LookUp('Managers_Schedule',ThisItem.'Employee Name'.Email = employeeNameInText && user_fullname = Title,true),"Completed","Pending")
user_fullname is the variable I have create in app start which is. set(user_fullname, User().FullName
Hi @talal_pervaiz_g ,
Firstly why bother with the second argument
If(
User().FullName in test2.Name &&
ThisItem.'Employee Name'.Email in test2.employeeNameInText,
"Completed",
"Pending"
)
however this seems to be data logic - you have two collections where you are looking for: -
If both of those are present, then the item is completed. Is this what you are trying to do ?
Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

Hi Warren,
The first logic is correct from your questions and in second login The listed employee name in the Employee Induction List should be in Manager's schedule. And both conditions should be true by row.
So lets suppose I am Talal Pervaiz user who wants to book an induction for the employee X from Employee_Induction and previously I have already booked induction for employee A,B,C.
So A,B,C in gallery should show me as completed however for employee X it should show pending because that particular record is not available in Manager_Schedule.
Below is the screenshot of Manager_Schedule, where user().Fullname should be in Title as well as Employee Name from Employee_Induction should also be in Manager_Schedule's employeeNameInText. So I want both conditions to be true by record
Hi @talal_pervaiz_g ,
The logic is correct - it should be Pending based on what you have posted. Put this on a Label and see if you get true or false
User().FullName in test2.Name
All are showing completed however the first record circled yellow should be pending as there is no such record in test2 collection.
Did you put the formula on a label to test as I suggested ? There is nothing wrong with the code - it should show Pending if one of the conditions is false.
Yes but its not working with it however I have tried to add lookup in the formula and its working as expected.
If(LookUp('Managers_Schedule',ThisItem.'Employee Name'.Email = employeeNameInText && user_fullname = Title,true),"Completed","Pending")
user_fullname is the variable I have create in app start which is. set(user_fullname, User().FullName
Interesting - below is a test I have done here where the top argument is false (the user's name is not in that list field anywhere) and the bottom one true.
There is nothing wrong with the code and it should work if one of the tests is false.
Yes ideally the formula should work but as workaround it is definitely working if we add lookup in it
