I have some images to display in a gallery that is working perfectly when previewing and within studio, but the moment I run the app the images disappear. All the images are formatted in .jpg already so i don't think it is a formatting issue. The images are loaded directly into the app also, and not being referenced from another source.
So when previewing in studio, it looks like this, and when the app is running, the images all disappear.
I'm also having issues with the Image showing in Power App edit mode, but it will not show while running the app via web or mobile (both android and iphone). Here's my session ID information. Also, attaching screenshot of issue in browser where the Company Logo should be showing.
Session ID: ff72ceea-8044-43b2-8237-929cc3055990
PowerApps 3.18045.14
Is the image on an authenticated endpoint (e.g. Sharepoint)? That is currently not supported.
Is the image a jpg or png?
No, I embedded the Image into the app for display. (PowerApps Edit > File > Media > Images)
The image is a jpg file.
Edit: Essentially following this guide: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/add-images-pictures-audio-video
Hi Ed_M,
Can you try disabling delay loading (PowerApps Edit > File > App settings > Experimental Features) to see if that makes the images start appearing. Could you also send the session ID with the delay loading disabled.
Thanks,
Cody
I have same problem and haven't found a fix any where. This is how my app is configured:
1. A gallery showing all items in the sharepoint list
2. This sharepoint list has a phot field, set to show photo
3. Photos are inserted into the list with URL from sharepoint library from the same sharepoint site as the list
The gallery shows all photos in edit mode and when run on a web browser. But all photos are missing on iPhone app and when I add the apps to a Teams tab.
This is not a problem with embedded media loaded directly into the app, so please redirect those response to the relevant thread. Thanks
@Anonymous, this is actually a known issue. The images from the sharepoint list require authentication and you get that for "free" in the browser since you are already have the sharepoint cookies set. However in the mobile apps and the native teams apps, those cookies don't exist and so the images fail to load.
The following shown under "Summary of what's new in Microsoft PowerApps" reflects an General Availability anticipated release date in January 2019. I would assume this will alleviate this issue of authentication and apply to Picture Libraries, as well as Document Libraries.
Would this be an accurate assumption?
PowerApps makers can create mashup apps with SharePoint Document Libraries
PowerApps app makers now get the capability to create mashup applications with SharePoint Document Libraries, which allows them to browse through folders, view and launch files in native applications, and upload and enhance metadata for their files. The SharePoint data connector has been enhanced to list Document Libraries within a specific SharePoint site, empowering the app makers to simply pick the Document Library they want to connect to, and removing the need to type in the name of the Document Library.
@cherieThanks for confirming the bug/issue. This however defeats the purpose of having an app with good usability for mobile device. Why would I spend time designing an app that only works on browser?
8 months of crickets.. this seems like something that should be a higher priority. images will not load on mobile or private desktop browsing sessions.
The technique I detailed in a blog in January enables App Makers to render images stored in SharePoint document libraries in apps running on both the web platform as well as within the PowerApps app installed from the app store on mobile devices. To sum up the blog all files stored in SharePoint document libaries now have a {ThumbNail} property which you can use in Image controls within PowerApps to render images at multiple resolutions as desired.
