Imported Solution and the existing solution must Both be managed for upgrade

Hello

 

I am trying to import an update to a Solution into Production.  An earlier version of the solution exists in Production, and it is a managed solution.  I exported as a managed solution from my development environment and now I am trying to imported it into Production.  

However I keep getting this error - 

Imported Solution and the existing solution must Both be managed for upgrade

Both the version in Production and the Import version are Managed solutions.  ANy ideas why i keep getting this error ?

You will have to investigate each component separately to see if they have an unmanaged layer on top of the managed layer. An unmanaged layer gets created if you update the managed flow (which is bad practice)

Hi, I am also experiencing the same issue. It seems though that it is caused by having a Power BI dataset and report included in the solution that needs to be in sync separately.

Hi, facing exact same issue and we have just added Power BI report and dataset 2 weeks ago into the same solution. 
Did you manage to successfully remove Power BI report and dataset from main solution, add to a new one and then import both into PROD?

Hi Fasilva, in this case, I no longer needed the Power BI inside the solution, so I deleted it and then it worked. Not sure what the normal procedure should be on this.

It turned out the error message has nothing to do with root cause. 😞
Error message is just misleading.

In my case, root cause was related with exceeding number of rollup fields on a specific table.

 

Inspecting log found the following error text:

"You can't add a rollup field with name rbx_donotprice having id be8eb229-986a-4dbd-aa17-eafead9ec2c3 for entity with name rbx_basket and id d42ebe3b-a183-4a8f-98da-13d09d20083f. You’ve reached the maximum number of 10 allowed for this record type."

 

Removing the rollup fields solved the import issue.

Maybe this will help someone, I was getting the same error, imported using the old interface and it worked.

I get this error all the time.  The error happens if I choose 'Upgrade' as the solution action.  If I instead choose 'Update,' I do not get the error.

Hello - was anyone able to resolve, and if so, how did you do it? I am now getting the same error after I attempted to reset an environment variable in DEV and import to PROD and can no longer upgrade this solution. How do I delete a managed solution? If I do so, will it affect the connection references because those are in mutliple solutions and I'm fearful of breaking all of them.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities. Users must provide a solution which can be an “Accepted Solution” in the Forums in all of the communities and there are no limits to the number of “Accepted Solutions” that a member can provide for entries in this challenge, but each entry must be substantially unique and different.    Winner Selection and Prizes: At the end of each week, we will list the top ten (10) Community users which will consist of: 5 Community Members & 5 Super Users and they will advance to the final drawing. We will post each week in the News & Announcements the top 10 Solution providers.  At the end of the challenge, we will add all of the top 10 weekly names and enter them into a random drawing.  Then we will randomly select ten (10) winners (5 Community Members & 5 Super Users) from among all eligible entrants received across all weekly Entry Periods to receive the prize listed below.
