Hey dears,
following problem:
I have a Combobox with a conditional IF formula in.
Now, I`d like to make another Dropdown field visible or invisible, based on the result of the Combobox.
With the usual DataCardValueXX.Selected.Value = "example" it doesn`t work.
Anybody an idea?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You`re right with your estimation.
DataCardValue22 just shows a few options, related to the choice in DataCardValue5.
And the choice of DataCardValue22 should then show the related Input Field, e.g.
DataCardValue22 -> "Cost Center" input field should be visible, rest invisible...etc.
Here are the properties:
DataCardValue5
Items:
Choices([@'Purchasing requests'].'Type of Requirement')
OnChange:
Empty
OnSelect:
false
DataCardValue22
Items:
f(
DataCardValue5.Selected.Value = "Material / Hardware (Non-R&D)";
["Cost Center"; "Sales Order"; "Internal Project (I-XXXXXX)"];
If(
DataCardValue5.Selected.Value = "Software Licenses / IT Software (Non-R&D)"
And
DataCardValue40.Selected.Value="Subscription (Non CAPEX)";
["Internal Project (I-XXXXXX)";"Cost Center";"Sales Order"];
DataCardValue40.Selected.Value="Intangible Asset (CAPEX)";
["Cost Center"];
DataCardValue40.Selected.Value="Maintenance (Non CAPEX)";
["Internal Project (I-XXXXXX)";"Cost Center";"Sales Order"];
If(
DataCardValue5.Selected.Value="R&D All requirements (D-XXXXXX)";
["R&D Project"];
If(
DataCardValue5.Selected.Value="Services (Non-R&D)";
["Internal Project (I-XXXXXX)";"Cost Center";"Sales Order"];
If(
DataCardValue5.Selected.Value="Other Cost Center related expenses (e.g. trainings, offsite)";
["Cost Center"];
[]
)
)
)
)
)
OnChange:
Empty
OnSelect:
false
Hope that helps...
Alrght, and that does work properly, up until there everything works, or does something fail?
If that works properly then you would need to implement my code in the DatacardValue22 OnChange/OnSelect, and adjust the formula so that it enables or disables whatever variables you need!
If it doesn't work, then let me know which part so I can properly take a look at it!
Edit: To reference the Datacardvalue22 you could try to use .Selected.DisplayName instead of .Selected.Value
Correct!
I made a few variables as example for several fields, but you can add or remove vars as you need for each use-case, and same with the conditions . . . The formula I made was assuming that the field to determine the visibility was the DatacardValue5, not the 22, so you just have to change that, as well as the comparisons and variables!
Here's a simplified version of what I'm telling you, based on what I wrote the other day
OnChange/OnSelect property of the field on which depends the visibility
UpdateContext({'YOUR VAR NAME' : false; 'YOUR OTHER VAR NAME'; false});; //HERE PUT ALL THE VAR NAMES TO SET TO FALSE
Switch(
'YOUR FIELD TO EVALUATE'.Selected.Value; //YOUR FIELD TO EVALUATE
"YOUR OUTPUT TO EVALUATE"; //YOUR FIRST RESPONSE
UpdateContext(
{
'YOUR VAR NAME': true //ENABLE VISIBILITY VARIABLES
}
);
"YOUR OUTPUT TO EVALUATE 2"; //YOUR SECOND RESPONSE
UpdateContext(
{
'YOUR OTHER VAR NAME': true; //ENABLES VISIBILITY VARIABLES
}
)
)
Hopefully that's enough for you, otherwise, feel free to reply!
So, I`m really despairing, because I do not understand, why this doesn`t work. I now put this formula to DataCardValue22 OnChange property:
UpdateContext({varCostCenterVisible: false; varInternalProjectVisible: false; varProjectNameVisible: false; varWBSVisible: false; varSalesOrderVisible: false});;
Switch(
DataCardValue22.Selected.DisplayName;
"Cost Center";
UpdateContext(
{
varCostCenterVisible: true;
varSalesOrderVisible: false;
varInternalProjectVisible : false;
varProjectNameVisible : false;
varWBSVisible: false
}
);
"Internal Project (I-XXXXXX)";
UpdateContext(
{
varCostCenterVisible: false;
varSalesOrderVisible: false;
varInternalProjectVisible: true;
varProjectNameVisible : false;
varWBSVisible: false
}
);
"Sales Order";
UpdateContext(
{
varCostCenterVisible: false;
varSalesOrderVisible: true;
varInternalProjectVisible : false;
varProjectNameVisible : false;
varWBSVisible: false
}
);
"R&D Project";
UpdateContext(
{
varCostCenterVisible: false;
varSalesOrderVisible: false;
varInternalProjectVisible : false;
varProjectNameVisible: true;
varWBSVisible: true
}
)
)
But the error with DataCardValue22 remains:
Just as a last hail mary, you could try using .SelectedText to see if that works for you . . . In any case, when you put the .Selected. it should show you all possible data you can put there, like this . . .
Try looking at what data can you put, or if the .SelectedText works for you, then go for it!
That`s the point...I know that I usually should get proposals. But in my case there is alwas red underlining, when entering .Selected. ...
Is it because the formula is related to the DataCard where it is written in?
The rest of the formula seems to be correct. It is just the result of the DataCardValue22 that cannot be shown anyhow.
Hmm . . . You could try using Self.Selected. ... and maybe that'll work?
Edit: Additionally, when you use the 'FIELD'.selected, it should show you the data type record which you can open in the dropdown below like this:
Can you show that?
Also not possible.
These are the choices I have.
But if I chose Selected, then this appears:
Well, as said, you can try .SelectedItems. ..., however as I said on the edit on my last post, you can just use the .Selected without any further details, and it should show it's record like this:
If you can create a button and just put the DataCardValue22.Selected, and show me the record (Selecting something on said field), hopefully that might shed some light on this
