Hi @Taidito_Laikido,

So, I reproduced your exact case and here is the solution...

Your formula for your Dropdown9 Items property should be:

Filter('Cascading dropdowns',Title=Dropdown8.Selected.Value)

This is assuming that your Dropdown8.Value is linked to the Title column as I see it in your first capture.

Tell me if this works...

Emmanuel

Hi @Taidito_Laikido,

In order to help you, I need to know the type of your Team column.

Emmanuel

The elements in my team column are single lines of texts.

Is it possible to do cascading dropdowns using two choices columns ? if it's possible ( how can i link each item in the first column to its corresponding elements in the second column )? @R3dKap

Thaaanks 🙂

It does work perfectly Emmanuel @R3dKap

I do have 2 more  questions if you don't mind 🙂

These two cascading dropdowns are in a sharepointlist called "cascading dropdowns"

   1) How can i collect the informations selected in the two dropdowns in my sharepointlist ?

   2) is it possible to have these informations in another sharepointlist ?

Once again, thanks a lot Emmanuel !

Gald to hear it works... 🙂

About your questions...

1) If you want to store the content of your dropdows in your SarePoint list, you should use the Patch() function.

I'll let you try it by yourself first (here is the documentation for this function), and if you're stuck, feel free to reply in this discussion...

2) If your goal is to store this data in a SharePoint list different than the "Cascading dropdowns" list, you can also do it with the Patch() function. Just add your other list as a new datasource to your app and the specify this other list as the datasource to your Patch() call.

I hope I understood well your questions...

Emmanuel

Emmanuel,

thanks a lot for your reply, but i failed using the patch() function ..

The thing is that i don't know how to use the patch() function to collect data coming from 2 different datasources ...

I'll explain > i do have 2 sharepointlists, first one (2 columns of single lines of text that i turned into cascading dropdowns) , the second SPlist (4columns..) . I want to collect all the informations that the users type in my powerapp and send them to the second sharepointlist using the PATCH() function as you told me.

I didn't want to disturb you more than i already did, but i really don't know how to make it work.

Thanks a looooooooot  @R3dKap

Hi @Taidito_Laikido,

Ok... Can you give the following information ?

  • Name of your datasources (your two lists)
  • Names of the 2 columns in first list and 4 columns in second list
  • How do you collect data in your application ? Using a form or using custom controls that you put yourself on a screen ?
  • How are your two lists connected ? What column links the two lists ? Is it a lookup column ?

Emmanuel

Hello @R3dKap ,

- The name of my datasources ( Cascading dropdowns & GEMBA2.0)

-Names of columns in the cascading dropdowns list (Title ; Team)

-Names of columns in the GEMBA2.0 list ( Engagement ; DSTUM ; WOM ; MIM )

-I collect data  (from GEMBA2.0 list ) using Forms,  but i failed to collect data coming from the (cascading dropdowns list ) that i've put myself on the screen ( it was single lines of text that i turned manually to dropdowns)

-The two columns (Title and Engagement are the same thing ) i want to collect the selected Title and team in the Sharepointlist (GEMBA2.0)

Thaanks (y)

Hi @Taidito_Laikido,

Sorry about the delay... Do you still need help with this or did you manage to achieve your goal ?
