Hello!
I got a gallery with multiple labels in it and some controls etc. and these are connected to a sharepoint list. And when the gallery get over 15 items in it and when I scroll it lags badly, the information doesnt seem to have been loaded from the beginning, it loads while im scrolling?
I have set the powerapps to max load 150 items into the app från SP list. I dont use clearcollect or anything because the information in the app changes whole the time. Maybe i'm thinking wrong?
Someone have any ideas how to boost the performance somehow? What kind of controls can cause lag in an gallery?
Solved! Go to Solution.
If you still want to use a collection, OnVisible of your screen put;
ClearCollect (MyCol,
FirstN(Sort (Datasource, ID, Descending),250))
Then use MyCol on the Items property of the Gallery

To improve performance, the Gallery loads in batches. It doesn't load all at the same time.
Using a collection will improve it but since you don't want to use a collection, the option available is Power Automate.

Hello and thanks for your reply.
I never mentioned that I dont want to use a collection, I was wondering more if its possible if I set the max of items to be displayed to 250? My SP list contains around 11k items in total but not everything needs to be visible at the same time.
The power automate solution seems to be Kinda complicated to work well with my app, I think.
First of all, you cannot retrieve all the 11k unless you use a collection. So Onvisible of your screen:
Concurrent(ClearCollect(col1,
Filter('YourSPList', ID >= 1 && ID <= 2000)),ClearCollect(col2,
Filter('YourSPList', ID >= 2001 && ID <= 4000)),ClearCollect(col3, Filter('YourSPList', ID >= 4001 && ID <= 6000)),ClearCollect(col4, Filter('YourSPList', ID >= 6001 && ID <= 8000)),ClearCollect(col5, Filter('YourSPList', ID >= 8001 && ID <= 10000)),ClearCollect(col6, Filter('YourSPList', ID >= 10001 && ID <= 12000)));ClearCollect(colNewProduct, col1, col2, col3, col4, col5,col6)
But before that, increase the Delegation setting to 2000 on File... Setting... Advanced setting.
Also have an ID Column.
On the issue of loading 250, there no setting to do that. However Collection will improve the scrolling.

Okey, I understand.
The thing is I only need to see the the latest 250 items in my SP list. I dont need to load all 11k items into my app, in a few years there will be 100k items in the list. Is there any way to make a filter in the clearcollect so always collect the latest 250 items from my SP list?
On the Items property of the Gallery;
FirstN(Sort (Datasource, ID, Descending),250)
That should give the latest 250

Okey, I now i'm a little confused. This doesnt have anything with clearcollect to do? I cant use the FirstN expression in the clearcollect? If I understand correctly the clearcollect cache the "items" for the user so it wont be as laggy when scrolling right? I tried the FirstN on my gallery with my existing filters and its still lagging.
Wouldnt something like this work?:
ClearCollect(collectionlist;LastN(MySPList;250))
You said you only need 250 to show right. In that case the Collection won't be necessary so put the formula on the Gallery items.
