LastSubmit really grinding my gears

I've watched every video, read every blog, made a new screen, commented all my code out, its literally just submitting a form then i navigate to a gallery nothing. If i save it in a collection with clearcollect .. nothing. same with set. I've read that only edit mode works but then i see a 4 month old video where it works with the new form (which it has to). i don't intend to replace the form on this app with just patch (other stuff is done with it but its a collection of ways to do it so i want one form in). 

But i need the ID to save it in the master list. Sharepoint is the datasource, i've seen it with my own eyes work on sql datasource but not on sharepoint. So, if anyone would be willing to help that would be great. 

I would really apprechiate if it would work since i want to make as few calls to the datasource as possibel (also if it calls it and if i call it without last submit would produce the same load, let me know thanks). 

Now you might ask what my question is... Good question! 

But jokes aside, anyone an idea? i literally have a form, datasource and a way to display it  and its not working.

Do you have your definition of LastSubmit (the Set/collection/whatever, I recommend Set btw) in the OnSuccess of the form, or are you just calling it immediately after your Submit() function?

I tried both and it didn't work, now 5 hours later it works (don't ask me why). Do you know by any chance (before i come to test it) does lastsubmit result in a call of the database (which it probably has to but is it additional?) or is that done either way and a lookup will produce extra load right?

Should definitely do it on your OnSuccess, as that guarantees that there is a LastSubmit to reference - if the form fails for any reason and does not submit, but you have it navigating away and setting it, then there won't be any value, so always use the OnSuccess and OnFailure options to direct your App.

LastSubmit should be an internal function which is the response already returned to Power Apps when you submit the item to SharePoint, so there are no additional network calls involved with it

Its not true that last submit is always aviable on success. Just saying, otherwise my variable wouldn't be empty 😄 can't do more than Set(form.lastsubmit). i think on success gets called once SP responds with a 200 response before anything else gets processed.

You mean Set(variableName, Form1.LastSubmit) ?

Is there any other code you are using when calling the Submit() function and if yes could you pop it in here please

nope submit is runned alone and its working now it wasn't consistent two days ago i don't know why it started working yesterday (only half) now it works as if it never didn't. well whatever and i accidentally clicked your post as solution, well lucky you lul (if it even matters ;D)
