Leave Request : different ballance

Hi all,

I'm using Leave Request template and try to edit it to use it properly with my company.

I changed the data source to use it with a SharePoint list, and now I would like to update the ballance of the employees.

Let me explain :

I got 13 days of leave back from the last year, a colleague of me has 5 days.

Is it possible to connect another Sharepoint list with the ballance of all employees at the start of the year?

So instead of edititng the "OnStart" part, I would like to have the ballance in another list to be edited by a non IT guy.

Thank you in adavance

I think that you may want to use LookUp collumns, no?

My website!

Hi @Nogueira1306 ,

Thank you for the quick reply.

Maybe I can use this kind of column, but how can I take my informations from my SP List?

If for example, I use my SP list with :

Employee 135 days Vacation3 days JuryDuty
Employee 227 days Vacation3 days JuryDuty

Here I just see that on the OnStart part and if it's possible I would like not to have to edit code to update the days of all employees

You have the table:

Employee 135 days Vacation3 days JuryDuty
Employee 227 days Vacation3 days JuryDuty

and the table

Employee 135 days Vacation35000€
Employee 227 days Vacation40000€

If the second filed form first table is a lookup to the second table, if you change his vacations, it will automataclly update the number of days in the first table.

I think there is a misunderstanding,

What I would like is to replace

ClearCollect(BalanceCollection;
        {
            EmployeeEmail: _myProfile.UserPrincipalName;
            EmployeeName: _myProfile.DisplayName ;
            Year: Text(Year(Now()));
            Vacation:10;
            VacationUsed:0;
            Sick:8;
            SickUsed:0;
            Floating:8;
            FloatingUsed:0;
            JuryDuty:3;
            JuryDutyUsed:0;
            Bereavement:5;
            BereavementUsed:0;
            BalanceID:_myProfile.UserPrincipalName&Text(Now(); "[$-en-US]mm-dd-yyyy-hh-mm-ss-fff")
        }
)

By a connection to a new SP list which contain all informations about the leaves depending of each employees.

You want to replace this:

{
            EmployeeEmail: _myProfile.UserPrincipalName;
            EmployeeName: _myProfile.DisplayName ;
            Year: Text(Year(Now()));
            Vacation:10;
            VacationUsed:0;
            Sick:8;
            SickUsed:0;
            Floating:8;
            FloatingUsed:0;
            JuryDuty:3;
            JuryDutyUsed:0;
            Bereavement:5;
            BereavementUsed:0;
            BalanceID:_myProfile.UserPrincipalName&Text(Now(); "[$-en-US]mm-dd-yyyy-hh-mm-ss-fff")
        }

by your SPList, right?

If yes

ClearCollect(BalanceCollection; NameOfYourSharePointList)

If you put the Sharepoint list it will create the collection with all itens from SPList

Yes it's correct.

But how can I define the correct values for each users?

Because here, in the code, the employeed is identified with

EmployeeEmail: _myProfile.UserPrincipalName;
            EmployeeName: _myProfile.DisplayName ;

Do I need to create columns with all employees and all days for each?

When an employee will log on the app, how this one will identify the employee and the number of leaves for him?

When an employee will book some days of holidays, does the SP list will be updated with the new ballance?

in your code :

ClearCollect(BalanceCollection; NameOfYourSharePointList)

Do I need to enter the full URL of the SP list? Or do I need to define the SP list somewhere?

Thank you for the answers

If the list has the Emplooyes it is identified. If not,my advice would be to create the fields to keep it all in the List...

To import the list is just creating a new connection to your Sharepoint list.

Is it possible to get all the employees from the azure AD?

If I create the list, how can the app identify the employee which is logged and the employee from the list?

The list must have the fields to identify the employee. Like name and email.
To identify the user in the app you can use LookUps and check that.

I don't think you can import them from Azure AD but you can import them from Office365.
