Leave request template - data not updated, manager not show up

Hi there,

Was trying to use the "Leave Request" template for the organization as a start, i just follow the normal procedure as below:

1) Creat Tablet Version "Leave Request" app

2) Allow connection with Office 365 account & Outlook account

3) Click on "make my own app" to connect Ondrive for business

4) Re-authorise connection with office 365 and Outlook

5 Folder of "PowerApps" created under Onedrive for business

6) Share the "data.xlsx" with user

7) Save the PowerApps and share with user

😎 Finish

Sounds like as usual, but problems come in here.

supposingly, when i click on the app, and i login as employee, it will refresh from data.xlsx and update the current leave balance, requested leave, etc. so by default, it will be nothing on the requested leave on your first login instead of the "sample leave".

When i try to login as employee, try to request leave, refresh, it goes back to sample app like view, without my record, but just the sample leave.

another problem is even if i have set up the line manager in the "Exchange setting", on the request page, the "Sent to" field remains blank.

Anyone have experience on the above and can walk me through? Appreciate that.

Hi @howardyiu ,

1)The problem that you met is because that the example app creates an example of leavecollection on the app's OnStart.

If you do not want this example, you could modify it or delete it.10286_LI.jpg

2)Could you describe more clearly about "set up the line manager in the "Exchange setting"?

I didn't find where to set this.

If you could show me screenshoots, it will be better.

@howardyiu I think I may have a solution for you? The 'error' appears to be with the Office365User connection that gets setup:

1. when you create the app (your Step 2), and

2. when you "make my own app" (your Step 4)

For me, when I do these steps the app setup defaults to my company O365 details. This isn't what I want. So I re-created the app from the start and I selected "Switch account" (instead of accepting the default) and chose my O365 account, for both instances, and all the errors go away.

Eg, my manager didn't appear when I first tried to 'create new request' but did appear after I used "Switch account".

Give this a try. You will need to re-create from the start, however, but I think it'll be smooth sailing after that ... fingers crossed 🙂

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers

no luck for me, when i doing steps 2 & 4, i click on switch account, i saw the account i logged in only, and i click on below "Create" button, it just duplicated the same account with no choice i can add other account.
