Lookup Data Selection Not Being Displayed In PowerApps Before Saving

Maybe someone can help me out so I can finally solve this problem. I have two lookup columns - Send to Office Location and Office Address being used in another sharepoint list called Tickets. When I select the location (Atlanta, Charlotte, Columbia..etc) the Office Address is chosen based on the selection. When I save the form - the location and office address shows up in the sharepoint columns labeled Send to Office Location and Office Address just as I want. What I want to happen is for the Office Address to display in the outlined area next to Office Address and I have tried everything I know of but I cant get it to display the address upon selection. The reason I have (Not Visible) is because of this although it is showing in the columns as mentioned in the sharepoint list. I know that its set for view but regardless of what I choose (edit, disabled) nothing happens. Does anyone know what would be preventing it from showing up and can finally help me figure this out? Thanks in advance.

Yessir, exactly. I have list named SGH Office Locations that contains two lookup columns - one called 'Title' and the other called 'Office Address' that I am using in another List called Ship Tickets which is a customized sharepoint list that is seen in the screenshots. When I select 'Send to Office Location' it corresponds to the appropriate office address that I have established in the SGH Office Locations list based on the selection chosen. The lookup columns are working as should when chosen as the data is being written back to the Send to Office Location and Office Address columns in Sharepoint. My only problem is that it is not being displayed in PowerApps upon selection. Ive tried everything and am under the assumption that there isnt a way for it to display the Office Address value visibly in PowerApps without saving to SharePoint.

By the way the name of the column is Office Address.

@y2kardell ,

So 'Office Address' is a Lookup column in 'SHG Office Locations' as well (I assumed both were in your main list).

LookUp(
   'SGH Office Locations',
   Title = DataCardValue18.Selected.Value
).'Office Address'.Value

@WarrenBelz yes it is.

@WarrenBelz, it doesnt seem to like .Value either.

@y2kardell ,

The code I posted should work then

@y2kardell ,

We need to regroup here as my responses are only as good as the information you provide and I also need you to look at the structure I am posting and gain a bit of an understanding of what it is doing. The solution here should be really simple, but it appears there is something in the information being misinterpreted. The last code I posted

LookUp(
   'SGH Office Locations',
   Title = DataCardValue18.Selected.Value
).'Office Address'.Value

assumed the following: -

  • You are looking up a list called 'SGH Office Locations' for the record where the Title field in this list matches the value selected in DataCardValue18
  • You want to get the value in the 'Office Location' field in 'SGH Office Locations' , so that will have .Value on the end if it is a Lookup or choice column or nothing if it is a Text column.

There are no other possibilities, so what of the above is not true?

@WarrenBelz, yessir everything you stated is true:

Lookup list Name: SGH Office Locations: Lookup Column Names: Title and Office Address.

PowerApps List Name: Ship Ticket Request Form. Using those columns. Send to Office Location (Looks up "Title")

Office Address (Not Visible) (chooses address from lookup based on what is selected from Send to Office Location.

@y2kardell ,

Can you please send me a screenshot of the List settings on both lists - something is not correct here.

@WarrenBelz, sure thing!!
