[@ModelDrivenFormIntegration].Item is empty in Create Mode

Hi there,

I am not sure what I need is now supported by embedded canvas apps or not.

This is the ideal scenario that I need:

I have a custom activity and I want to embed my app on the quick create of this activity. When a user is on a Case form and tries to add this activity from the timeline of the case, the quick create form will be shown and my app is starting too. Before saving the form, the user needs to click on a button and the app will create a record into another system and get the URL back, then user should be able to save the form.

In the app, I need to have access to the "Regarding" case information of the activity. And, as you know this field is automatically filled on the form even if the form is not saved. So, if I can get that regarding lookup information, it will be fine, but I couldn't and that is my problem.

Now, here is what I have done so far:

I have embedded my canvas app in the quick create form of the custom activity. The app loads on the quick create but the problem is [@ModelDrivenFormIntegration].Item is empty and I cannot get the information that I need.

Also, I embedded this app on the Main form of the activity. This time the app does not load until I save the form.

These are the reasons that I am not sure whether the scenario above is supported or not.

I would appreciate it if anyone can help me in resolving it.

I don't think this will work since the activity record is not yet created so you will not be able to get value in the modelrrivenformintegration.

@aaaaaaaaa1

Yes because the embedded canvas app is dependent on the activity which is not yet created.

@aaaaaaaaa1

I run into the same issue and the solution is to add a timer on the form and it should be hidden later and on Timer End

Set(recordId,First([@ModelDrivenFormIntegration].Data).ItemId);ClearCollect(collection,Filter('Customer Assets',Account.Account=GUID(recordId)))

Please check detailed steps on below article

Thank you @Mira_Ghaly
I think my scenario is a little different from your scenario, or I did not get what you mean.

In my scenario, before the activity is created I want to get information of the form. So, there is not yet any Id at all. Also, I do not need to get the information on the OnVisible or OnStart. Even on the click of a button is enough for me.

I don't think this will work since the activity record is not yet created so you will not be able to get value in the modelrrivenformintegration.

Even if the Regarding case field has data on the form?

@aaaaaaaaa1

Yes because the embedded canvas app is dependent on the activity which is not yet created.

Ok, based on the name (ModelDrivenFormIntegration) I thought it is about integrating to the form values. But, it seems it is just ModelDrivenDataIntegration ;).

By the way, thanks for your help.
