Modern Combobox doesn't save text entered

Hello All,

I've having some issues with the new modern combobox. Let's say I don't want to select from the dropdown but enter a new value. I enter the value Test for Select of Enter new AI Topic (see below)

As soon as I click off of the combobox the value I entered disappears (see below).

Does anyone have any ideas what is going on and to fix this? Thanks!

if you are following the video from reza then it never was intended to be able to add one straight from the combo box. You are going to have to make a new row button which will make a blank box and then you can select a value. You should be able to mix modern and classic, make sure you have the correct data sources/ streams selected.

It's not working. When I try to save it doesn't save the new item with data. I've tried watching a video from Shane Young but he goes about it in a different way that creates new records every time you update. Reza's video is what I want to accomplish where I can edit records and insert new records, but I need to be able to enter new Topics if they are not in the dropdown. There are elements from both Reza and Shane that I like but they don't seem to integrate with each other.

Well I finally got it work. I changed all my gallery features to classic. I know need to figure out how to add a new item enter in my dropdown to the list so some can select the new entry from the list. I'm not sure if Reza has a video on it but I do know Shane has one.

I have another issue. My Save button is now displayed all the time. In Reza's video I used the following code for DisplayMode. It was working when I was using the modern controls and now that I switched to the classic it displays the Save button all the time. Why would that have changed?

I am not certain - another option to try is to move that to the visible property. It should functionally do the same thing, and if it's not showing as disabled it might be the solution.

I tried to move it to the Visible property, it does the same thing and is visible all the time.

to be honest, I am not really sure then what is wrong. Sometimes stuff for me will just update and work the next day. That is all I can really recommend, and power apps seems to process things weirdly. Like just today I was having difficulties connecting a flow, and using the same code it kind of just worked this morning.

I appreciate your help it just doesn't make sense. It seems like I'm always running into issues trying to build in Power Apps.
