Multiple filters for Gallery

Hello,

I am trying to use two separate button galleries to filter a list gallery (disclaimer: I am brand new to power apps and have very little experience). One button gallery consists of departments (Directorate, OPS, MAINT, PMOB, S&S, All) that I want to be able to switch between. The other gallery consists of task status (New, In Progress, Complete, Closed, Suspended) that I want to be able to multi select. The goal is to be able to select a department and any number of task statuses, and reflect in the list gallery. Does anyone have suggestions to accomplish this? Thanks!

Here is the formula(s) I’ve used. Each var formula works as its own if statement, but they don’t work correctly together, and I don’t know how to link them together as stated previously.

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

What do you mean by button Galllery? Do you have multi buttons representing different status and sections?

I have a test on my side, where including 2 varaibel to filter the same list, which works as expected, how you configure your app?

I would suggest you add a Dropdown box and populate it will 1-6 numbers, then write the If statement with the Dropdown selected value:

If(Dropdown1.Selected.Value=1,Filter(...),
   Dropdown1.Selected.Value=2,Filter(...),
   ...
   )

Thank you for the response! Below is a snapshot of my scenario:

I want the top Tabs (which is a button gallery) to switch and reflect the applicable items in the Task List (center gallery) as assigned to each department. The side buttons (also a button gallery) reflects the task status for each item in the Task List). I want to be able to select multiple task buttons while switching department buttons, however, the best I've been able to come up with only allows me to apply one filter at a time (see current formula below):

Assuming your two galleries are called galStatus and galSection:

Filter(

Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately I still can't get that formula to work:

Error states: "Name isn't valid. 'Value' isn't recognized." and "...'SelectedItems' isn't recognized." I don't know if this is due to the collections I made for each button gallery (department collection= 'colsecttab' and status collection= 'colstatus')? Below are my collections within "App.OnStart":
