Navigate from gallery to a new form

Hi everybody,

I am pretty new to powerapps. So I hope my problem is not too trivial.

I want to build an App with a gallery of different training sessions on the homescreen. Data come from a Sharepoint list (name of session, logo, session length, ...). I want to navigate from each of the gallery fields to a detail screen of the selected training session. On this detail screen I want to have a button "I took this session", wich submits data to a second sharepoint list. This second list needs to get the following data: person that took the session, name of the session and session length. With every new entry I have a flow running which automatically creates a session certificate and automatically emails it to the person that confirmed its participation. Flow is ready but I am struggling with ideas of how to do the navigation from the gallery. Also I don't know how to create a suitable form or anything from which I get the wanted data to the second SP list. Or if I have a screen for each session, how I could manage the navigation from the selected item in the gallery to the right screen.

I managed to create a working app. But this does not have a gallery but an improvised Homescreen and it has one screen with a form for every single training session. Also I have one extra sharepoint list for each session beacuse I didn't manage to get the sesion length to one list properly. I wouldn't mind to still have one SP list for each session.

I'll attach a picture of my home screen and one of a detail screen.

Thanks a lot for your help

@schillkroete

To create a Gallery to use as a dashboard, have a SharePoint list (say SPlist1) with the details that you want to capture, say the Title, Description, SessionLength, Logo, etc.  Use the ID of the list to control which detail screen to navigate to. Make SPlist1 the Items property of the Gallery.  Put labels into the gallery for each field that you wish to display. It is not necessary to display all of the fields in the gallery because all of the fields in the record being selected can be referenced from anywhere else in the app.

Place a ">" icon in the gallery.  Make its OnSelect property

Switch(
        ThisItem.ID, 1, Navigate(scrSession1,None),
                     2, Navigate(scrSession2,None),
                     3, Navigate(scrSession3,None), etc.
)

The form on the details screen could include all the fields from SPlist1.

The Send button would be outside of the details form and would contain a Patch command to enter the items you require into the second list. For disambiguation, I would make each field name in SPlist2 different from SPlist1

Patch(SPlist2, Defaults(SPlist2),{Participant:User().Fullname,SessionID:Gallery1.Selected.ID, Length:Gallery1.Selected.SessionLength, SessionName:Gallery1.Selected.Title})

You may wish to validate that the patch worked before sending the email.  To do this please see https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Check-if-Patch-has-saved-the-data-successful...

 I am not sure if this answers your question completely but hopefully, it could be a start.

@Drrickryp

Thank you so much. This helps a lot. Navigation works perfectly. Would you create an extra details screen for each session or would you create one which gathers the data from the selected gallery item? Right now I have 6 detail screens for 6 sessions. I'm afraid this is not a very elegant solution. And maybe this could slow down the app when having more sessions like 20 or so.

Just played around a little and I managed to get the App running with only one detail screen. So thank you so much again for your help.

One more question. When submitting a form it is possible to navigate to a success or failure screen, using the OnSuccess function of the form. Is this possible with the new save button as well? Asking because the button no longer submits a form but patches a SP list.
