Need to increment a number field in a SharePoint list

When I try to run the code it replaces the field value instead of incrementing it. I'm sure I am missing something very minor here. I am thinking it may have something to do with the app being unable to see the value that's already in the field. I'm uncertain. Here is the code snippet:

I don't think that "Hours" is the issue because the value of "Hours" is actually getting added to the field successfully. It's just not adding that value to the value that's already in the field before updating the field.

So, if I read all that correctly...

1. DataCardValue10 is initially returning the correct value from the SharePoint field (which is set as a text field)?
2. There is a variable (Hours) that is a number, and that is set sometime during the edit phase of the form?
3. The above code is triggering with the Form.OnSubmit property?
4. And you effectively want the original DataCardValue10 (as text transformed into a number) to have the variable (Hours) added to it, with that new sum being the updated value for that SharePoint field after the changes have been made to the record?

1. I think this may be part of the root cause of the issue. DatacardValue10 is not returning any value. I checked to make sure it is unlocked.

There is one thing to note: The submit form action that triggers the code is done on the form that's connected to the "ReportDtls" SharePoint list (data source).  DataCardValue10 on the other hand is connected to the "BdgH" SharePoint list (data source). Both are being updated by the collection "ProjCollection" in the patch. At first I thought only submitting the from connected to the "ReportDtls" might be an issue but canvas was easily able to predict and identify the columns with no issue and without error while coding. Also, it did update the field in "BdgH" with the value of "Hours" but again without adding it to the value that's already in the field like it should. It just overwrites. That tells me it's not seeing the value that's already in the field to be updated at all; consequently adding "Hours" to "nothing" and updating the field.

Is that field currently included on your form anywhere? How does your form know what the value of that field is supposed to be? Or is it that you don't currently have that field included, and that's why you're trying to determine it's value before attempting to patch an updated value that includes the Hours value added to it?

Hours is in the form connected to "ReportDtls" and I want to add the value of that to the value in the 'Used Development Hours' field located in a different form connected to "BdgH", which is referenced by datacardvalue10.

Ok I figured it out. I needed to add a hidden number field in the collection and from that I was able to use the sum.
