Hi All,
I am a little stumped at how to resolve this issue. When I run this in preview; everything works fine, however when I save the powerapps form and try this in SharePoint; i get the error msg as per the subject header and as per attached (1). I am using a datacardvalue as my to parameter. Reason being that I want the form to email the person as per the value applied to a datacardvalue. I am really unsure how to get round this, given that it looks like office365Outlook.SendEmailV2 is looking for "" kind of value i.e. "test@test.co.uk". So does anyone know what I can do to ensure the value from a datacard can be used properly as the To parameter using the Sendemail function. the formula is below and attached (2).
Many Thanks
Phil
Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2(
DataCardValue8,
"xxxxxx - New Master Vendor Form Attached",
"Please fill in the attached new vendor form and return to your xxxxx hiring manager when completed",
{
Attachments: AddColumns(
RenameColumns(
Attachmentemailcontrol.Attachments,
"Value",
"ContentBytes"
),
"@odata.type",
""
)
}
)

if it is simple dropdown with email as list of values.
Write
DataCardValue8.Selected.Value
if it is office365user connector Write
DataCardValue8.Selected.Mail
if it is SharePoint person column write:
DataCardValue8.Selected.Email

Hi @zmansuri
Thankyou for you response but I'm afraid those options do not work. it looks like the formula does not like .Selected.x
So datacardvalue is a simple freetext field, so I want the email to send email to whatever the value is in that field. it is not a drop down, a sp person column or necessarily a office365 user, but it looks like the system sees the use of .Selected... as wrong format.
DataCardValue8.Text

Hi @zmansuri
Thankyou again for your swift response. However I am still getting the error in SP. See attachment 4. I made the change to .text (see 5) which the formula seemed to like, but sp for some reason does not see datacardvalue8.text as a 'TO' value. any ideas?

aha!!! Sometimes its hard to see the wood for the trees. Of course. Thankyou once again. That is why. So to summarise, the datacardvalue8.text works well and of course in production I actually need a value in the field. brilliant.
glad it worked

Hi. It is very simple. First setyour viarable to equal to DataCardValue8 like this Set(YourEmailVarial, DataCardValue8.Text)
Never use plan Textbox.Text or Datacard.Text on the email function instead use variable (YourEmailVarial) in the email function.
