Passing a global variable into a filter then converted to text

Hi, Team.

I'm very new to powerapps and I would like to make my programming more dynamic but I'm having problems passing a simple filtered search of an account number into a textbox that would contain the one line Scenario text. I have no idea how to do this on the syntax. I would think this is very simple but I'm having problems with it. Also, I would just call this variable on the textbox's default property, right? Since there are a lot of scenarios that will be added to the list, I don't want to just type this in programmatically and want code to simply rely on the table to pull the information and stay dynamic as possible. Thank you.

Set(var_agentscenario, Filter(FCELL_CallGuides_2, Account Number = searchaccnum.Text, Scenario.Text));

 

For the text box that I am going to call the variable unto

It helps us heaps if you can post the actual code in your question rather than a sceenshot of the code. Then we can just copy and paste it to our response ie we don't have to type out your code 🙂 

You can try this:

Set(var_agentscenario, LookUp(FCELL_CallGuides_2, Account_Number = searchaccum.Text))

// if Account_Number is a number data type in your source, then use this
Set(var_agentscenario, LookUp(FCELL_CallGuides_2, Account_Number = Value(searchaccum.Text)))

Then set your text box to this

var_agentscenario.Scenario

Could you please share more details about the Scenario.Text formula? What do you want to do for this formula?

Which column do you want to filter based on the Scenario Text Input box value?

Regarding the formula that you mentioned, I think there is something wrong with your formula. Please consider modify your formula as below:

Set(
     var_agentscenario, 
     Filter(
             FCELL_CallGuides_2, 
             'Account Number' = searchaccnum.Text
     )
);

If you also want to filter data source records based on the Scenario.Text, please consider modify above formula as below:

Set(
     var_agentscenario, 
     Filter(
             FCELL_CallGuides_2, 
             'Account Number' = searchaccnum.Text,
             FilteredColumn = Scenario.Text
     )
);

Note: Please replace the FilteredColumn with actual column name in your FCELL_CallGuides_2 data source, which you want to compare with the  Scenario.Text.

Please try above solution, then check if the issue is solved.

Awesome! Thank you so much! I found another workaround for the situation and that is to create a blank gallery and since I was trying to get the text data off a table the problem was that it was table data type so by using an empty gallery and pointing to a variable to the source data and and simply creating a label within the gallery ThisItem.AgentScenario. I guess doing this maintained the datatype, because whenever I tried getting the Scenario.Text it wasn't allowing me, but thank you for suggesting the syntax, I'll give this a try for future projects!
