Patch An unknown error occurred

I am following the tutorial by Michael Blythe called The Power of SharePoint and am running into the following issue.

I have a button with the following OnSelect

Patch(ProjectDetails, LookUp(ProjectDetails, ID=Gallery1.Selected.ID), {PMAssigned:TextInput1})

When i click the button, i get feedback that something has occurred, however the SP list item is unchanged.

 

 If you hover over the highlighet elements, it just says an unknown error has occurred. I have validated that the correct names for the gallery and textbox and button all have the correct names being referrenced.

An unknown error has occured.

Can you help? Also, What are some good ways to debug an app?

From our telemetry it would appear that some of the formulas entered may be causing a circular reference, for example:

Textbox1.Text = TextBox2.Text

and

Textbox2.Text = TextBox1.Text

that would cause a "loop".

Could you double check that something like that is not happening on your app?

I do not see any type of circular reference after further review. This is a very simple app. I am following the tutorial here:

Unfortunately I'm unable to find any more information on our error logs to be able to help.

If you could please send the client log I can look into it and see if there is anything there to try to identify the problem.

Please send it to carlosag @ microsoft  . com and I can look into it.

The log file would be at (type this in Windows Explorer, % included):

%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MSApps_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\

and you 'll find a file that starts with "core_....log".

Have you tried hardcoding the ID and PMAssigned values to see if that's successful?

I was a site collection admin, added myself to site owners group = No Change

Attempted to hard code values and that WORKed. I guess that tells us it is not a permisisons thing.

Can you write the ID and texbox values to the screen of the app so you can make sure they're as expected? It could be something do with the ID being passed, but hard to tell.
