Patch PowerApps PeoplePicker field to SPList (Title field)

Hello all,

I am trying to write the content of a people picker field (DisplayName) into a SharePoint List (Title field).

How can I do that?

Hi @Frankie70 ,

If you put this in the Update of the Data Card containing the Title field, it should work (replace with your control name)

YourPeoplePickerControlName.Selected.DisplayName

If you want to see the value straight away in the field, put the above instead in the Default value of the Title control and on the OnChange of the People Picker control put (replace with your control name)

Reset(YourTitleControlName)

thanks for your reply. I do not fully understand 😞

I have a combobox where I can search for a user in Office365 Users.

Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:inp_recip_exist.SearchText})

When a user has been choosen, I want to write the DisplayName into a SharePoint list in the Title column.

Patch(Orders, Defaults(Orders), {Title: inp_recip_name.Text, ... })

Maybe you could explain a bit further, what to do?

Patch(
   Orders, 
   Defaults(Orders), 
   {Title: YourPeoplePickerControlName.Selected.DisplayName}
)

thank you. That did the trick.

in this contect, I have one more hurdle to take:

When a name was choosen in the PeoplePicker field, a field below should show the CompanyName.

I already achieved this, but I need this field to be empty if nobody was choosen in the PeoplePicker.

For some reason this field always shows information.

What can I do?

Sounds like a refresh issue - if the People Picker is blank, then so should the related Company field.

So, am I doing it correctly with putting this into my Company field?

Defaut: If(Radio1.Selected.Value = "existing employee", Office365Users.UserProfile(User().Email).CompanyName)

Because when I click on existing employee in the Radio Control, it already fills out the CompanyName...

That will get the current logged-in user's company name and will always have something in it (as you have discovered)

Office365Users.UserProfile(User().Email).CompanyName)

Your need (if you had the User's email in a Text box called UserMail

Office365Users.UserProfile(UserMail.Text).Department

My Company Field:

Default: Office365Users.UserProfile(inp_recip_exist.text).CompanyName

Hi @Frankie70 ,

Your control inp_recip_exist needs to contain a valid email address for a person in your tenant - if so, this should work.
