Patch function is not patching the calculated Data Card to SharePoint List

Hello All,

I am building a Power App for Contract repository based on a SharePoint list. The current App is using a Gallery leading the multiple screen form. I followed Reza's instructions on this video https://youtu.be/9gI9OscTLD0, and everything worked great, except the one calculated data card is not patching the SharePoint list for new entries.

Here is the Patch function:

 

My list has a calculated text column that generates a Contract ID from the Supplier's Code (a lookup from another list) plus the contract start date.    

'Contract ID creator in Contract Data form 
varFormContData.'Supplier Name: Title'.Value & "-" & Text(varFormContData.'From:',"yyyy mm")

 My form has two pages, and the calculated data card is on the first page, so I did add a Set(varContID) function to the Next Page button to calculate the "Contract ID" card and set the "Contract ID" Card's Default value to the  "varContID."

 

And here is the "Contract ID" data cards default value 

So far I tried to: 

1. adding the formula to the "default" property of the card, which partially worked if I opened the record from the gallery in edit mode but had no success on patching the record from a new entry.

2. created a Variable and set the "default" value to my variable and triggered the variable by the next page navigation button and gave me the same results

3. at last tried to place the Set(var) just before the Patch function but no luck on this either.

Unfortunately, My knowledge ran out but not my will to finish this small project. I would highly appreciate it if you could give some ideas.

hello, this is kind of a workaround but since your that column is a calculated field in your list, would it be okay to just add a label into that card (with your variable as the value), assuming its not an editable field?

Firstly, thanks for the help. It is a good idea but I'd like to pass this data to my SharePoint list since I was planning to use this ID to track payments in another SharePoint list.

My list column is a text column and calculation is being done in the canvas application. I am not sure if this will change things?

I have used the "Update" property as you suggested, but I got the same results as before. 

The below picture is after entering a new contract and opening the form in edit mode. 

As you can see, the varContID is null

I have a feeling that somehow I need to pass the varContID value to varFormContData before patching to my SharePoint list.  Unfortunately, my technical knowledge is not as big as my ambition so I can't figure out how.
