Hello!
I want to patch a data entry only if the Title= DataCardValue1.Text, and if not I'd like to submit the form
I have this as the patch part and it works as i wish, updating the Field 1 from the looked up data.
Patch(
'MY DATA SOURCE',
LookUp('MY DATA SOURCE', Title= DataCardValue1.Text),
{FIELD1: Value(TextInput1.Text)})
I thought something like this would work
Patch( MY DATA SOURCE, First( Filter( MY DATA SOURCE, Title = DataCardValue1.Text ) ), { FIELD1: Value(TextInput1.Text) } ); SubmitForm(Form1)
Title field i have re-named to FullName and this is a free text input field.

Hi @amyharkus86 ,
Same principle -
With(
{
wID:
LookUp(
SPListName,
DateFrom = YourFromDatePicker.SelectedDate &&
DateTo = YourToDatePicker.SelectedDate &&
).ID
},
If(
!IsBlank(wID),
Patch(
'Buy Back Record',
{ID: wID},
{YourPatchHere)}
),
Patch(
SPListName,
Defaults(SPListName),
FormName.Updates
)
)
)

Hi @amyharkus86 ,
Try this format - if Title does not work, change to FullName
With(
{
wID:
LookUp(
MY DATA SOURCE,
Title = DataCardValue1.Text
).ID
},
If(
!IsBlank(wID),
Patch(
MY DATA SOURCE,
{ID: wID},
{FIELD1: Value(TextInput1.Text)}
);
SubmitForm(Form1)
)
)

@WarrenBelz thank you for the reply and sorry for the delayed response i was on annual leave.
It sort of works, It not submitting if there is not already a person by that name in the SharePoint List
But if there is it is submitting and then its adding it as well as creating a new one.
Below i submitted a blank with 0 days just to get input i did that with a simple submit form1
I then submitted one for 2 days, this is the top of the list with the date range, I then submitted a 3rd, this is the 3rd on the list and as you can see it created it again but also did the patch to the top one making the total 4 days.
I need it to create a new entry if there is not already one for the person and if there is i would like it to add the number of days to the field 'Leave Count'
My original patch does work, Just updating the one record if the title is the same as in the list
Patch(
'Buy Back Record',
LookUp('Buy Back Record', Title= DataCardValue1.Text),
{LeaveCounts: Value(TextInput2.Text)})
But i only want it to do that if Title=DataCardValue1.Text and if not to submit a new form.
Hi @amyharkus86 ,
I think you need this
With(
{
wID:
LookUp(
'Buy Back Record',
Title = DataCardValue1.Text
).ID
},
If(
!IsBlank(wID),
Patch(
MY DATA SOURCE,
{ID: wID},
{LeaveCounts: Value(TextInput1.Text)}
),
SubmitForm(Form1)
)
)

@WarrenBelz thanks again.
Im getting a red line on the bottom part of the code, am i missing something?
@WarrenBelz to add if not to confusing/complicated to do so,
If the persons name and the data to and from are already in the list update, But if one of those is different then it submits a new entry to the SharePoint List.
For example i could Enter the form
Name- Amy
Date from 27/12/2022 to 26/12/2023
Days requested 3
Then i could submit another
Name- Amy
Date from 27/12/2023 to 26/12/2024
Days requested 3
And as the dates are different it would create a new entry but if the name and dates were the same it would patch.
Is this possible?
Hi @amyharkus86 ,
This has got to be a bug (makes no sense to me why the logic works if you do both, but not conditionally on one or the other), but this should work
With(
{
wID:
LookUp(
'Buy Back Record',
Title = DataCardValue1.Text
).ID
},
If(
!IsBlank(wID),
Patch(
'Buy Back Record',
{ID: wID},
{LeaveCounts: Value(TextInput1.Text)}
),
Patch(
'Buy Back Record',
Defaults('Buy Back Record'),
Form1.Updates
)
)
)

@WarrenBelz Thats worked perfectly, Thank you very much.
Did you see my question i should i add a new post?

@WarrenBelz your amazing!
Thank you, I used this
With(
{
wID:
LookUp(
'Buy Back Record',
Title = DataCardValue1.Text &&
StartDate = DataCardValue3.SelectedDate &&
EndDate = DataCardValue4.SelectedDate
).ID
},
If(
!IsBlank(wID),
Patch(
'Buy Back Record',
{ID: wID},
{LeaveCounts: Value(TextInput2.Text)}
),
Patch(
'Buy Back Record',
Defaults('Buy Back Record'),
Form1.Updates
)
)
)
I also have a count visible for the users, So they can easily see how many days they have used
LookUp(
'Buy Back Record',
Title = DataCardValue1.Text &&
StartDate = DataCardValue3.SelectedDate &&
EndDate = DataCardValue4.SelectedDate, LeaveCounts)
Thank you so much for your help.
