Ok thank you so much!

Last , last thing I promise (haha) If I were to add "Error Message" for instance, an Employee was already check in For equipment that day (they only can have (1) sign out per day) so message like " Employee already has check out equipment for that day" , what would sort of Formula would be used for something like that?

Hi @Sahara22 ,

Use Notify (unless you want a more complex pop-up)

Notify("Employee already has check out equipment for that day",NotificationType.Error)

Hello @WarrenBelz  Again, I have ran into an issue "with My error pop ups" I didn't want to create an new post as its related to the same app we've been working on.

Here is what I need to do:

- I need a pop up to show up if an employee from the same (Crew Number and Zone) on the same date (todays date) Saying either (popUp1) "they already have a Belt Signed out" or (popUp2) "they already have a Tractor signed out". I need the visible to be "True" on the popup when my sharepoint list "Homebase" searches the same line entry that lists " Zone and Crew Number" that same day and finds an entry has been done already for the matching "Crew Number and Zone".

Here's what I have which is totally wrong but I simply can't figure it out:

Pop-BELT1 (is my pop up name)

Equipment Type: (is my sharepoint field name)

-The whole idea is to prevent a crew taking more then one (Tractor or Belt)

Search(Homebase,'Equipment Type',Date(Today), If(Items(Radio2.Selected.Value = ITEM (SINGLE RAIL BELT) Or Text(DOUBLE RAIL BELT='Pop-BELT1');UpdateContext ('Pop-BELT1':true)

Any help would be great.

Thank you!

@Sahara22 ,

Firstly, I cannot see your data, so do not know if some what you are posting are field names or control names and also do not know where 'Equipment Type' fits into this. The content below I am sure is not not correct, but please look at the syntax. You will only need one pop-up (we will get to that later) - just change the message.

!IsBlank(
   Lookup(
      Homebase;
      IsToday(YourDateField) &&
      (
          Radio2.Selected.Value = "ITEM (SINGLE RAIL BELT)" ||
          Text(DOUBLE RAIL BELT.Text)="Pop-BELT1"
      )
   )
)

If this was put on the Visible of the pop-up, it would appear if

  • The date in the date field in your list was Today AND
  • The value selected in Radio2 was "ITEM (SINGLE RAIL BELT)" OR the input into the Text Box DOUBLE RAIL BELT was "Pop-BELT1"

As I mentioned, I am sure these are not your values - can you please provide all your field and control value names that are relevant here. Also if you are using a free-form text box here, it will not work unless the exact matching value is entered.

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

Hello @WarrenBelz  again, thanks for your reply.

Here is the list of my field names:

 “Equipment Type” is a new field I created that’s new that’s  why you got confused , sorry about that.

I did try your formula and it didn’t work. I know it’s been all over the place.

so for controls I have:

-Radio2

 (selections: (TRACTOR,SINGLE RAIL BELT,DOUBLE RAIL BELT,POWERSTOW,CNX TRACTOR)

-Pop-BELT1 (my pop up with error message)

Hope this clears things.

Thanks again.

HI @Sahara22 ,

I really need your help here or we will go in circles - can you please explain in a bit more detail exactly what you are trying to do - such as "User needs to selects this control (name) with this value and types in (value) to this control (name) to enable the Visibility of the other control". That is just an example, (I have a blog on the Forum on this) but I need to visualise what you want to do. I have established that the Field name is not relevant so the first bit on the Radio is

!IsBlank(
   Lookup(
      Homebase;
      IsToday(YourDateField) &&
      (
          Radio2.Selected.Value = "SINGLE RAIL BELT" ||
          Text(DOUBLE RAIL BELT.Text)="Pop-BELT1"
      )
   )
)

but I do not know what you are testing with the Text bit and what the control name or type is.

Thanks @WarrenBelz @for your fast reply.

The idea is to prevent a group of employees who work in the same “Zone and Crew number” from checking out a second piece of equipment (they are only only allowed one per crew) as sometimes I have different members of the same crew try to take a second piece of equipment when there not supposed to.

I need the “pop up” to show when the SharePoint list “Homebase” is searched and find the “same crew number and and zone that was inputed on one line was inputed again on a another line with a different employee entry so as soon as it catches it I need a pop up that says “ this crew has already signed out one piece of equipment “

hope this Clarify my idea.

Hi @Sahara22 ,

Sorry - a bit lost here - what has crew member and zone got to do with 'Equipment Type' of "SINGLE BELT RAIL".

Do you just want to make sure the particular Employee has not taken another item for the day or do you want only one employee per zone to only take one piece of equipment?

For the first, assuming WhoScanned contains the employee code and 'Date and Time' the date scanned, you would need something like

IsBlank(
   LookUp(
      Homebase;
      IsToday('Date and Time') &&
      WhoScanned=BarcodeScanner2.Value
   ).WhoScanned
)

 for the second - I assume you just want to check Zone, so

IsBlank(
   LookUp(
      Homebase;
      IsToday('Date and Time') &&
      Zone=YourZoneControlValue
   ).WhoScanned
)

I am simply testing for another matching record in the list and the control would not be visible if there is one.

Please try and understand the logic and if the above is not correct, explain in detail what you want.

Hi @WarrenBelz ,

Sorry - a bit lost here - what has crew member and zone got to do with 'Equipment Type' of "SINGLE BELT RAIL".
—>

So each crew are allowed one “SINGLE RAIL BELT” OR “DOUBLE RAIL BELT” and those values selected are automatically imputed in the “equipment Type” filed.

So when a “SINGLE RAIL BELT” OR “DOUBLE RAIL BELT” is selected on the Radio2 control and a (another employee has already check out one of the two  “SINGLE RAIL BELT” OR “DOUBLE RAIL BELT” that are on the same crew and zone the pop up triggers and says for example “BELT has already been checked out for this crew” the whole idea like I said is to catch a crew from taking more equipment they don’t need.

the “whoscanned “ is the person at the desk checking out people so he will always be the same person , who changes is when when scan “employees ID”

hope this clears things some more
