PenInput Saved as an image

Hi everyone, please forgive me if variations of this have been asked before, but so far I have not been able to find the answer to my question.

A little background. I have a Sharepoint list which stores forms filled by managers. In the form, among many other fields, is a signature field - a Pen Input.  I have been able to store the base64 from this in the Sharepoint field as a huge string. When viewing a form by choosing it from the gallery, I have not been able to display the actual signature saved from the PenInput. I can pull up the big long string, but I'd much rather see the signature.

 

This is a screenshot from the "Add new record" screens and as you can see a signature exists, and you can see the base64 immediately below. In the image below you can see the base64 in the Sharepoint list.

So far then it seems as if the PenInput is being captured and saved to my list. What I need to do now though is when reviewing entries in the app or even when editing them, is to be able to see the saved signature. I have tried several methods of doing this but I'm just not getting it. Reza Dorrani and Shane Young have provided me with many insights, but I can't seem to solve this particular bug. Is there anyone out there who could help me? I'm sure it's something simple I'm overlooking. If anyone could point me to a YouTube video that just goes through displaying the base 64 as an image in the edit mode, I'd be grateful.

On the card for the 'signature field' on your form, if you add a image control and set the image property of the control to ThisItem.'Signature field', the signature should appear.

Without seeing the code that you use to extract the base64 encoded content from the pen input control, it's possible that you're saving the result with the enclosing double quotes. In that case, you can try setting the image property to an expression that strips this out.

My code is very Reza/Shane-like and is written to the save button you can see in the first image I posted;

The column in the SharePoint list shows the base64 with opening and closing " quotes. Adding an image inside the 'Signature field' datacard with the Image set to ThisItem.'Signature field' gives me an empty box. Adding the

Substitute(ThisItem.'Signature field') """","" ) in place of ThisItem.'Signature field' gives me an error.

There was a typo in my formula - if you try this, do you still get the error? If so, what's the error message?
