Hello,
My PowerApp was working fine until two days ago, when all the Person form fields stopped working and instead of showing the Person display name, now show 'i:0#.f|membership|' followed by the user email.
This happens in edit or view forms and if the form is in view mode, it's not possible to choose a Person.
When it happened for the first time I closed the PowerApps editor, reopened and the fields were ok, but the next time I opened the app for editing they were with this problem again.
I decided to let some time pass to see if it could be some kind of sync issue, but it's now more than 24 hours and the problem still remains.
Is there a solution for this?
Thanks!
Solved! Go to Solution.
If this is a combobox you are showing, then check the Fields in the properties pane to see what field you are showing. It appears that it is showing the Claims column.
I hope this is helpful for you.
Hi Randy Hayes,
Thanks, you are spot on!
But is this normal? That dozens of person fields across multiple screen changed from Display Name to Claims without nothing being changed at all?
Finally got it working with the help of several forum posts and some tinkering!
For choice dropdowns, just copying and pasting the formula in the 'Items' property works fine.
For Person dropdowns, copy/paste the 'Items' formula, check if 'IsSearchable' property is true (this property sometimes changes to false when copy/pasting the formula), edit the dropdown 'Fields' with Layout=Double or Single, Primary Text=DisplayName, Secondary Text=Email, SearchField=Claims.
If this is a combobox you are showing, then check the Fields in the properties pane to see what field you are showing. It appears that it is showing the Claims column.
I hope this is helpful for you.

No it is not usual for something like that to happen. Did you happen to notice if the version of the PowerApp platform changed from when it was good to now? You can look at all the versions of your app to see.
@RandyHayes , didn't notice a platform change, but noticed that in the day this happened I kept receiving notifications that the app was opened elsewhere for editing and that I should override that opened session when publishing.
I am 100% sure that no other session was opened (even tried to clean all browser cookies and history) and the override notice didn't show up when opening the app for editing, it would come up when publishing.
Hi,
I've exactly the same issue @IT-AKF. Combo box still work but I can change the display column in the combo editor. Realy strange.
@RandyHayes
When I correct the DisplayFields property, save and publish the override windows show up.
After that, if I leave and edit again the app all the fields are back to "Claims".
Is there a way to check the opened sessions and kill them?
I too have noticed more often that the override message is appearing. Usually you can wait it out for a few minutes and then the session clears. But, I found it odd the other day that I opened an app to edit that had been closed for more than a day and it said I was already in it working and to override.
I have found that my preferred process of closing out now is to save the app, then close it (using the close option, not just closing the browser). About 50% of the time when hitting close (after a successful save) it tells me I have changes that have not been saved. I then save again and it closes. After doing that more, I have not seen the override message as much. BUT, it is all a little odd and somewhat new.
The problem still exists, Person fields now simply don't work, it's not possible to write in them to search for the person and there is no populated list either.
I think this is a bug with the current powerapps version from what I read in this forum, but I still haven't found any solution to get this to work.
This is a very serious bug, I had this app in development for several months but luckily did not put it in use yet, but if I did one of the key processes of the institution I work with would be stopped!!
I am wondering if using PowerApps in it's current state turns out to be a enormous risk right now for important stuff.
@IT-AKF , To fix the issue I've change the item by adding email and change the display field to email
{DisplayName: User().FullName;Claims: "i:0#.f|membership|" & User().Email;Email: User().Email}
