Power Apps Sharepoint filter

Hi Guys

Quick question...

Is it possible to have powerapps view a SharePoint list but only specific columns of information?

Ideally, I would like to be able to filter the information and also have a colour change when an entry is close to being posted for 24 hours.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Ok, I've had another think about this,

I think comparing the creation date to Now() would work in the same way - that way each item is compared again the current moment in time:

With(
      // Here we have the date difference between NOW and when it was created
     {
         ThisDateDiff: DateDiff(
                                ThisItem.Created,
                                Now(),
                                Hours
                      )
     },
     // If that difference is more than 21 hours (24-3) then red
     // This gets us anything with 0to3 hours left
     // If that difference is more than 12 hours (24-12) then green
     // This gets us anything 3to12 hours left
     // Otherwise that difference is less than or equal to 12, and green
     // This gets us anything that has 12to24 hours left
     If(
        ThisDateDiff > 21, Red,
        ThisDateDiff > 12, Orange,
        Green
     )
)

Then you could filter the gallery to only show the last X items created or something like that..

I tested the above script and was able to format according to Date Created vs Time Right Now:

@Courtney
Yes, you can use the SHOWCOLUMNS function to

ShowColumns(your_sharepoint_list, "Col1", "Col2", "Col3")

Alternately, you can REMOVECOLUMNS.  This doesn't remove them from the list, only from the data shown in the app.

ShowColumns(your_sharepoint_list, "Col4", "Col5")

To show only one column;

Showcolumns(Datasource,"columnName")

Hi @Courtney :

Do you want to create a view to show specific fields in Share Point list?

Do you want to set the color of the text according to the creation time?

Firstly,I think Gallay is a good tool for displaying records.I'v made a test for your reference:

1\Add a gallery

Gallery-Blank Vertical

2\Set the gallery's Items property to:

'List A' /*'List A' is my SP list*/

3\Click the edit gallery button then add a label

1.JPG

4\set the label's Text property to

ThisItem.Title /*Title is a field in my SP list*/

If you need to add more fields, just repeat step 3/4

Secondly,you can use the Datediff function to determine the record creation time.

I assume that you need to mark records with a creation time of 15-24 hours in red font.

The key is to call the standard field Created of SP list, which saves the record creation time.

1\Set the label control's color property to:

If(
    DateDiff(
        ThisItem.Created,
        Now(),
        Hours
    ) < 24 And DateDiff(
        ThisItem.Created,
        Now(),
        Hours
    ) > 15,
    Red,
    RGBA(0,0,0,1
    )
)

In addition,I think these links will help you a lot:

This is a major step in the right direction thank you!

The list contains data of machines which must be checked every 24 hours so I wanted the colour to change based on how close it was to 24 hours between the entry being created. These checks are being performed across many areas of the business so I would also like the app user to choose the area specific to them.

This would filter down the machines to their selected area instead of showing them everything and lastly, they would only need to view the data and not edit it.

Hi @Courtney :

Do you mean to check the time interval between the current record and the creation time of the last record?

Could you provide a specific time frame and corresponding color?(based on how close it was to 24 hours between the entry being created)?

Best Regards,

Bof

Ok sure,

Sharepoint entries are created by another part of the app with patches the information in which works fine. I need to create a screen that will view the information on the SharePoint and display it back to the user.

The equipment needs to be signed off every 24 hours so once it has been submitted, I wanted  3 colours based on how close to 24 hours passing.

3 - 0 Hours = Red

4 - 12 Hours = Amber

13 - 24 Hours = Green

As the equipment is across multiple areas I would also like the user to be able to filter the information so they only see the entries for a selected area.

Hope that helps.

Hi @Courtney :

Please try this code:

If(
    DateDiff(
        First(
            Sort(
                Filter(
                    'List A',  /*List A is my data source*/
                    Created < ThisItem.Created
                ),
                Created,
                Descending
            )
        ).Created,
        ThisItem.Created,
        Hours
    ) < 3 And DateDiff(
        First(
            Sort(
                Filter(
                    'List A',
                    Created < ThisItem.Created
                ),
                Created,
                Descending
            )
        ).Created,
        ThisItem.Created,
        Hours
    ) > 0,
    Red,If(    DateDiff(
        First(
            Sort(
                Filter(
                    'List A',
                    Created < ThisItem.Created
                ),
                Created,
                Descending
            )
        ).Created,
        ThisItem.Created,
        Hours
    ) < 12 And DateDiff(
        First(
            Sort(
                Filter(
                    'List A',
                    Created < ThisItem.Created
                ),
                Created,
                Descending
            )
        ).Created,
        ThisItem.Created,
        Hours
    ) > 4,Brown,
    Green))

Best Regards,

Woah, that looks intimidating! lol

Which property would I put this into to get the expected results?!

Hi @Courtney :

Put this code into the label control's color property.
