The new Power Apps grid control in model-driven apps is officially in public preview! This control can be used for both read-only and editable scenarios, supports infinite scrolling for a modern browsing experience, and allows pro-dev makers to customize the appearance of cells. I am curious, by using cell customizer, would be possible to add something like button or convert cell to clickable element with JavaScript to open side panel for record? Use case is to do quick edit inline on a grid but for some more detailed editing to open side panel with main form without navigating away from the grid? Currently, our users scrolling down to specific Contact record and need open it to verify some data but after returning back from form to grid it goes back to beginning of the grid, loosing grid previously scrolled position. Need scroll again down to required row.
With old read only grid we did override default behaviour and did open side panel by double clicking line but with new grid it disables inline editing..
Another thing, not sure if it’s a bug but filter on a grid doesn’t work for some reasons sometime, it wouldn’t show or filter result after hit enter unless click refresh grid again.
Here it shows GA in December for grouping/nested grids and aggregation
@eugacc Unfortunately we have run into some issues with the grouping/aggregation and nested grids capabilities and will need to push back the dates for when these will be available.
I really hope that you are also having performance in mind when you design the List/grid controls. The lastest versions of what we currently have as the default control is really problematic with regards to performance. This is having a major negative impact on allmost all areas of the system since the control is used every where (list, forms, etc.). Especially Customer Service users productivity is impacted by this at this is a heavy use scenario. Service agents are constantly navigating the system as part of they work. It is the primary tool. So even the slightest decreases in performance has a major impact on productivity and leaves them very frustrated. That is the current situation. I pray that newer versions will offer an improvement. If not I think you should focus on performance and postpone any GA date until it improves on the current versions.
I cannot seem to be able to edit in the grid control. I have added the new Power Apps Grid control to my form however it defaults back to a simple view grid.
Any tips would be most appreciated (I have granted access to everything to Authenticated users as this is the development environment to exclude permissions as the issue)

Not sure if this a bug but recently started experiencing 2 issues. Firstly, with selecting different views grid is not keep sorting's set by View by admin. When I open view first its completely different sorting from what I set while configuring view. Had 2 sort orders by 2 columns. View shows "asterisk" that it modified. Full page refresh would show correct sorting orders.
Same happened with using "Filter by keyword". It not showing results first, but then after full page refresh it will show filtered records.
I tested on different machines and browsers, same behavior. Seems like session issue to remember settings.
Second issue with Infinite scrolling. After scrolling down to page, it jumps back to starts.
What about GA for current state of grid? Is it still December?

We ran into an issue when columns in the grid were selected from related tables (like "name", since we need to hide the lookup links).
The column header was not rendered, it remained spinning.

We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities. Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”) - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024 Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.
